Jordan Mims, 3, of New Boston, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, after a long illness.
His grandparent, Virginia Nell Mims, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his parents, Charlene Hurst of New Boston and Bradley Mims of Clarksville; grandparents, Veronica Hurst of New Boston and Donald Hurst of Dallas and William Watson of Idabel, Okla.; and a host of other relatives.
Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, Jan. 4, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Linden. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of Sasser Funeral Home of Naples.

HENRY IRVIN ‘SUGAR MAN’ GREEN

Henry Irvin “Sugar Man” Green, 75, of Kreole, Miss., passed away Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013. 
He was a long time resident of Atlanta and retired from the Texarkana Mill of International Paper, after 35 years of service. After retirement, he moved back to the family home in Kreole. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. He was active in little league sports for many years in Moss Point, Miss., and in Atlanta. 
His parents, Henry and Winnie “Boozie” Green; a brother, Donald Keith Green; and two sisters, Janice Green Thornton and Judy Green Burchette, preceded him in death.

JERRY PATE

Sept. 22, 1946 - Dec. 26, 2013
Jerry Pate, 67, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, in Atlanta.
He was born Sept. 22, 1946, in Nashville, Ark., to Kelster and Lodean Pate. He was a retired store manager for Walmart in Atlanta for 18 years. After retiring from Walmart, he was a truck driver for 15 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed trading in the stock market.
His parents, Kelster and Lodean Pate, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Pate of Atlanta; one daughter, Shaunda Ramo and husband Steven of Kilgore; two sons, Scott Nease of Grapevine, Christopher Nease of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; four grandchildren; Devin Nease, Christen Nease, Holt Nease and Jay Ramo.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, at Hanner Funeral Service.

BOBBY ‘ZACK’ CLEMENTS

Aug. 4, 1975 – Dec. 26, 2013
Bobby “Zack” Clements, 38, was born in Baytown on Aug. 4, 1975, and departed this life Dec 26, 2013.  He was a caring individual, who made friends easily, loved his family and had a passion for motorcycles.  He attended Texarkana College and obtained certificates in auto body repair and HVAC. He was a Baptist. 
He is survived by his parents, Dennis and Vicki Clements of Mathis, Texas, and Carole Clements of Queen City; his wife, Teri Clements of Texarkana; two sons, Billy Dale Loy of Carizzo Springs, Texas, and Zachary Parker Clements of Atlanta; three daughters, Ashley Nichole Shew, Isabella Luryn Clements and Ashton Marie Waldon, all of Atlanta; one sister, Dedra Wincher and husband DeWayne of Queen City; one granddaughter; five nieces; and one great-niece.
A private visitation will be at Queen City Funeral Home.
Memorial services are pending.

Bob Buxton, 68, of Atlanta, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at his residence.
He was born March 5, 1945, in Clovis, Calif., to Paul and Arvita Buxton. He was retired from Greyhound Bus Lines, served in the U. S. Air Force and was a Baptist by faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Paul Buxton and Charlie Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Buxton of Atlanta; one son, Robert Buxton, Jr. of Atlanta; three daughters, Tania Nelson of Broken Bow, Okla., Sonya Bowles of Atlanta and Alicia Hochmuth of Atlanta; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Visitation was from noon to 1:45 p.m. Monday, Dec.30, at Hanner Funeral Service

Visitation was from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, at Reeder-Davis Chapel. Interment followed at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home.

Virginia Pillow Funderburk, 88, of Bloomburg, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at her residence surrounded by family.
She was born Oct. 15, 1925, in Bright Star, Ark., to Homer and Addie Lou Pillow. She was a member of Sandhill Assembly of God Church. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, “Grannie,” sister and aunt. She loved her family
Her parents; a grandson, Greg McAdams; and a son-in-law, Bobby McAdams, preceded her in death.
She is survived by three daughters, Sharon McAdams Cross and husband Lee of Bloomburg, Jan Calhoun and husband Homer of Bloomburg and Connie Rayborn and husband Brent of Texarkana; one brother, David Pillow and wife Myrna of Texarkana; one sister, Betty West and husband Harold of Texarkana, Ark.; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

MIKE McBRYDE

Mike McBryde, 54, of Bloomburg, went to be with the Lord Friday, Dec. 20, 2013.
He was born Dec. 15, 1959, in Houston to Bill and Gwen McBryde. He worked for AT&T for 13 years and was a member of Atlanta Church of Christ. He was excellent with “hands on” hobbies. He often used his talents to fix vehicles and do carpentry work. He was a diehard Texas Longhorns fan.
His father, Bill McBryde, preceded him in death.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary Kirkland and husband Eric of Spring, Megan Nichols and husband Casey of Texarkana, Mindee McBryde of Texarkana and Jahni McBryde of Spring; his mother, Gwen McBryde of Ft. Worth; two sisters, Jackie Harrison of Ft. Worth and Jennifer Maldonado of Austin; one grandson, Ethan Kirkland of Spring; and a number of other relatives and friends.

DAVID GALE RHOADS

David Gale Rhoads, 59, passed from this life in Center on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013.
He was born to Leroy and Helen Rhoads on Sept. 29, 1954, in Vivian, La. He was a graduate of McLeod High School and married his childhood sweetheart, Pamela Jean Lewis, on Nov. 10, 1972.
He and Pam made their life and raised their daughters, Kimberly and Adonya, in the McLeod area. He was a master craftsman and after working briefly as a mechanic, he started Rhoads Builders with his dad and oldest brother, Milton.
