BILLY JACK MOTE

Billy Jack Mote, 90 of Atlanta, went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 4, 2017, in an Atlanta nursing home.
He was born May 9, 1927, in Paducah, Texas, to O. L. and Rosaleen Woods Mote. He was retired from Texas Department of Transportation, served in the U. S. Army and was a Baptist by faith. He enjoyed reading his Bible daily, spending time with family at his cabin on Caddo Lake, fishing, playing dominoes and woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Joyce Bedgood Mote; and a grandson, Ethan Nunn Mote.
He is survived by a son, Marc Mote and wife Gina of Atlanta; two daughters, Marsha Mote Stanton and husband Barry of Pearl River, La., and Rosemary Mote of Dallas; four grandchildren, Adam Stanton, Carly Mitchell and husband Nick, Logan Mote and Austin Mote; a great-granddaughter, Sophia Stanton; and a number of other relatives.

Nan Sharon Tilmon, 72, of Monroe, La., was born on May 15, 1945, in Smackover, Ark., and she returned to God Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She grew up the youngest of 11 children in Norphlet, Ark., where she excelled in horseback riding and basketball. She met and married her husband Ronald Tilmon more than 50 years ago in Little Rock, Ark. Together they raised three sons in Queen City. She lived a long life full of love and never hesitated to give all she could to everyone around her.
She was preceded in death by her twin sons, Ronald and Donald Tilmon; four brothers, Jimmy Dale, Don, Jerry and Richard; and three sisters, Verna, Delores and Shirley.

Sandra Kay Lummus Duke, 63, of Bloomburg, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, May 21, 2017, after a valiant battle with breast cancer. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God gave her tremendous strength and comfort.
She was born Oct. 1, 1953, to S. W. and Rosemary Lummus in Atlanta. A world traveler in her youth due to her father’s career, she often recounted the many adventures she had growing up with great passion. Bloomburg was always home, however, and she graduated from Bloomburg High School in 1972. She met Steve, her husband of more than 41 years, at the very first Cullen Baker Fair in Bloomburg.

Willie Ray Fike, 84, of Texarkana, formerly of Oil City, La., went to be with the Lord Sunday, May 7, 2017, at a Texarkana hospice house.
He was retired from Shreve Operators and was Pentecostal by faith. He enjoyed spending time with family, watching westerns, doing anything outdoors and put on a mean fish fry. 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Dean Hinds Fike.
He is survived by two sons, Ricky Fike and wife Debbi of Blanchard, La., and Kenneth Fike of Vivian, La.; two daughters, Carolyn Reed and husband Ron of Davenport, Iowa, and Ann Cottrell and husband Richard of West Monroe, La.; special niece, Fay Jones of Fouke, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

He was born April 21, 1973, in Shreveport, La., but lived in the Bivins area for the past three years after moving from Mooringsport, La. He attended Cornerstone Assembly of God Church in Atlanta. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.

Joseph William Baugus, 39, of Atlanta, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016.
He was born March 14, 1977, in Linden, to Harold and Shelia Baugus. He was employed with Wilbanks Land and Cattle, a member of Cass Baptist Church, loved spending time with family and friends and 4-wheeler riding.  
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Baugus.
He is survived by his daughter, Brooke Baugus of Atlanta; and her mother, Tiffany Baugus of Atlanta; his mother, Shelia Baugus of Cass; a brother, David Baugus and wife Carrie Baugus of Atlanta; a niece, Kayla Baugus of Magnolia, Ark.; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Hanner Funeral Service.
