Atlanta lost a tough battle with district foe North Lamar as the Lady Rabbs took a, 50-41, loss on Jan. 17.
Keyona Easter scored 19 points, had eight steals and posted three assists, and teammate Sheveonia Smith added 13 points, three steals and two assists.
On Jan. 20, the Lady Rabbits bounced Paris, 63-47.
Atlanta jumped out to a comfortable, 43-18, halftime lead and just cruised in the second half.
Smith had 20 points, Easter added 20 points and eight assists, Kaydee Kelly had 17 points with five treys and Kinsey Kelly posted five points.

T3 Elite competes in Pine Bluff

The T3 Elite Competition Gymnastics team competed in the Yankee Doodle Dandy Competition in Pine Bluff, Ark., on Jan. 14.  
The Levels 1, 2 and 3 teams brought home many awards. 
The Level 1 team won third place, and the Level 2 team won sixth place overall.  
Individual places are as follows: (Level 1) - Kynleigh Adcock – second place vault, seventh place uneven bars, sixth place balance beam, fourth place floor exercise, and sixth place all-around; Chloe Clevenger – second place vault, fourth place bars, third place beam, second place floor, and third place all-around; Alli Cait Fincher – seventh place vault, fifth place bars, fourth place beam, first place floor, and fourth place all-around; and Kaleigh Haskins – sixth place vault, sixth place bars, fifth place beam, sixth place floor, and seventh place all-around.

On Jan. 6, Atlanta’s Lady Rabbits topped Pittsburg, 55-44.
The first half was almost even as Pittsburg took a, 21-20, lead at the break, but Atlanta outscored the Lady Pirates 35-23 in the second half to seal the win.
Sheveonia Smith put up 26 points, Teshuna Sheppard added 16 points with 11 boards, Brittany Collins had eight points, Kinsey Kelly put up three points and Keyona Easter posted two points with seven assists.

L-K Basketball

Linden-Kildare picked up a big district when after the Tigers defeated Maud, 67-44.
Ja’Kevian Rose scored 19 points and accumulated 16 boards for the L-K, LaDavion Johnson added 18 points, Ty Patterson scored 16 and grabbed a team-high 18 rebounds and Cortez Peterson posted 10 points.
John David Fitts led L-K’s junior varsity in scoring but the Tigers came up short in a, 35-27, loss to the Cardinals.
The Lady Tigers played Maud toe-to-toe but in the end fell, 47-36, to the Lady Cards.
Jaimya Gaston had a double-double as she recorded 12 points and 20 rebounds for the Lady Tigers, and Siarra Johnson scored 10 points.

McLeod
McLeod edged district foe Detroit on Dec. 30, by a final of, 47-45. 
The Longhorns jumped out to a 14-6 lead after one quarter of play and took a 26-19 lead into the half.
A 14-7 run by Detroit evened the score at 33-all after three quarters, but McLeod outlasted the Eagles 14-12 in the final frame to take the nail-biter.
J.R. Smith scored a game-high 23 points and Colby Smith added 16. 
On Jan. 3, the Longhorns (18-2) opened the new year with a, 70-35, thumping of Rivercrest. 
J.R. Smith put up 18 points, Blake Williams scored 15 and Colby Smith posted 14.
The Lady Longhorns (15-6) topped Rivercrest, 49-40, in district action.
Shelby Davis dropped seven treys en route to a 23-point performance and teammate Tessa Glenn added 13 points.
McLeod’s junior varsity girls beat Rivercrest, 31-23, behind Brook Jester’s 10-point display.

Tigers and Lady Tigers face basketball foes

On Dec. 16, Linden-Kildare opened district play against Clarksville in a battle of Lady Tigers. L-K was ahead the whole first half but Clarksville’s towering posts were tough to handle down the stretch as the other Lady Tigers came out on top, 56-45. Siarra Johnson was the top scorer with 15 points followed by Skylar Vaughn with 10. 
Stormie Littlejohn put up eight points, Haley Palmer added six and both Jaimya Gaston and Peyton Turner contributed three points each. 
The team is really learning how to work together and Siarra and Skylar have great picks/steals as they have learned to work together down the court,” Head Coach Lauren Foster said. “The ladies are a little down after a tough loss, but they are also ready to get back to work and make more improvements.”

On Dec. 12, Atlanta topped Kilgore with a 51-44 win over the Lady Bulldogs. Brittany Collins posted a team-high 20 points, Sheveonia Smith recorded 14, Keyona Easter added nine and both Kaydee Kelly and Kinsey Kelly had three points.
On Dec. 16, the Lady Rabbits ran into a good Gilmer team as the Lady Buckeyes rolled to a 72-42 win. Keyona Easter had 13 points and teammate Sheveonia Smith added 12.

T3 Gymnastics competes in Hot Springs
