ZELMA M. PUGH

March 4, 1925 - October 21, 2013
Zelma M. Pugh, 88 of Queen City, formerly of Bloomburg, went to be with the Lord Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, in Texarkana, Ark.
She was born March 4, 1925, in Miller County, Ark., to Presley and Ida Davis. She was retired from Allday’s Department Store and was a member of Queen City Assembly of God. She enjoyed playing dominos and cooking for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvanus Pugh; her parents; two brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by one son, Dannie Pugh and wife Emily of Texarkana, Ark.; a daughter, Patricia Farr and husband Algie of Chandler, Az.; four grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, at Hanner Funeral Service.

CARVIN MILES

Jan. 7, 1929 - Oct. 20, 2013
Carvin Miles, 84, of Linden, died Oct. 20, 2013, in a Shreveport hospital.

He was born Jan. 7, 1020, in Kildare. He was a member of the New Zion CME Church of Kildare, where he served as Steward Trustee, Sunday School Superintendent, as well as, teacher, Financial Secretary and Lay Leader for both the Longview-Marshall district and his local church. He served in the U. S. Army for over 20 years.

He is survived by four children, Lisa Anna Miles of Los Angeles, Calif., Balam Mike Miles of Honolulu, Hawaii, Jonathan Ferrell of Jackson, Miss., and Niessence Ferrell of Nacogdoches; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. at Linden Funeral Home.

LORI TOOLE

May 18, 1925 - Oct. 20, 2013
Lori Toole, 88, of Merced, Calif., went to be with the Lord, Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, in a Texarkana hospital.

She was born May 18, 1925, in Steele, Mo., to Cecil Curtis and Elnora French. She was the owner of Lori’s Patti Nails in San Francisco, Calif., for over 40 years. After retirement, she began competitive ballroom dancing at Author Murray Dance Studio, where she competed and achieved many awards. She especially enjoyed the holidays, where she was known for cooking formal meals.

She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Laner; husband, Nick Gervaise; a brother, Walter Curtis; and her parents, Cecil Curtis and Elnora French.

JOHN F. ‘FRED’ WILBANKS

March 26, 1952 - Oct. 19, 2013
John F. “Fred” Wilbanks, 60, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013. He was an active member of First Baptist Church Linden, where he served as a deacon and enjoyed the fellowship of his Sunday school class each week. He owned and operated Wilbanks Insurance Agency for 27 years and he had worked as a registered professional petroleum landman for the past eight years. He was a member of AAPL and ETAPL.
He previously served as interim mayor for the city of Linden as well as serving on the city council. He was a strong advocate of volunteerism.
He enjoyed camping, backpacking and being outdoors. He loved the Lord, his family and his friends.

FRANKLIN ‘FRANK’ WISE

Oct. 28, 1944 – Oct. 18, 2013
Frank Wise, 68, of Gilmer, died at home Friday, Oct. 18, 2013.
He was born in Queen City to Robert Olan Wise and Lillian Oma Vaughan Wise Oct. 28, 1944. He retired from AT&T/Southwestern Bell in Longview and was a member of Tanglewood Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Billy Joe Wise, Ogle Dee Wise and Danny Lee Wise; and his sister, Carolyn Westbrook.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Wise of Gilmer; his son, Brian Wise of White Oak; his daughter, Shannon McCann of Gladewater; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. at Tanglewood Baptist Church in Atlanta Saturday, Oct. 26. Interment will follow at Queen City Cemetery under the direction of Queen City Funeral Home.

Coy James, Jr., 84, of Atlanta, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, in an Atlanta nursing home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at The Roach COGIC. Interment will follow at Ware Ccemetery in Queen City under the direction of Community Mortuary.

Richard L. Bobo, 75, of Atlanta, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, in a Marshall hospital.
He was born Dec. 18, 1937, in Texarkana, Ark., to Elzer and Eleanor Bobo. He was the retired owner of Richard Bobo Trucking, was a Baptist by faith and loved fast boats and being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elzer and Eleanor Bobo.
He is survived by three sons, Richard Bobo and wife Lou of Cleveland, Brian Bobo of Montgomery and David Bobo of Houston; one daughter, Terri Bobo of McKinney; two brothers, Gene Bobo and wife Cindy of Atlanta and Doyce Bobo and wife Rae Nell of Highlands; one sister, Mary Lightfoot of Willis; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct.18, at Hanner Funeral Service.
