Carvin Miles, 84, of Linden, died Oct. 20, 2013, in a Shreveport hospital.
He was born Jan. 7, 1020, in Kildare. He was a member of the New Zion CME Church of Kildare, where he served as Steward Trustee, Sunday School Superintendent, as well as, teacher, Financial Secretary and Lay Leader for both the Longview-Marshall district and his local church. He served in the U. S. Army for over 20 years.
He is survived by four children, Lisa Anna Miles of Los Angeles, Calif., Balam Mike Miles of Honolulu, Hawaii, Jonathan Ferrell of Jackson, Miss., and Niessence Ferrell of Nacogdoches; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. at Linden Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at St. John Baptist Church in Kildare with the Rev. Don Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Linden Funeral Home.
