Tigers win rained-shortened match over DeKalb Bears

The Linden-Kildare Tigers baseball team only got two innings of play in against the DeKalb Bears due to rain, but it was enough as they pounded out an 8-1 decision on March 12.
Jordan Spaniol picked up the win for L-K, allowing one hit and one run, while striking out two and walking one in two innings of work.

Lady Rabbs produce three shutout games in tourney

Weather conditions over the past few weeks have wreaked havoc on plenty of planned sporting events but the Lady Rabbs were able to play a slate of games during the Bullard tourney recently.
Senior slinger Jaci Cullins pitched a no-hitter in Atlanta’s 4-0 win over Canton in game one.

Green named First Team All-District in basketball

Linden-Kildare’s Shenari Green was recently named First Team All-District for district 16-3A in girls’ basketball for the 2014-15 season.
Green, a junior, was the Lady Tigers’ lone representative on the First Team.

Rabbit record setters to be honored this Saturday

Rabbit record setters will be honored at the Atlanta Lions Club/Gordon Pynes/Runnin’ Rabbs Relays prior to the final events at Atlanta Rabbit Stadium this upcoming Saturday afternoon, March 14.
Fourteen former Rabbs who set and still hold records for the meet will be recognized. Six boys’ division records and four girls’ marks are still in the hands of these Rabbits.

Tigers open baseball season with pair of wins

After seeing their own baseball tournament cancelled due to sleet and snow, the Linden-Kildare Tigers were involved in mini-tournament involving Hooks, Hughes Springs, Pine Tree JV and Elysian Fields on March 7.
L-K and Elysian Fields split their tournament so that each team could get at least one and in some cases two games in.

Atlanta track looking to shine at home meet

This Saturday you may hear the roar of the crowd, coaches shouting and possibly a few gunshots from Atlanta Rabbit Stadium as the Rabbs’ track program hosts the infamous Atlanta Lions Club/Gordon Pynes/Runnin’ Rabbs Relays.
This will be the 18th running of the meet which has been popular since its inception in 1996. The 2006 meet was cancelled altogether.

Linden-Kildare hosts 19th annual Bill Hines Relays

Linden-Kildare High School would not let bad weather stop them from hosting their annual track meet last week, albeit a somewhat reduced version.
On March 6 running events were held for varsity boy and girls and JV boys. Field events were cancelled.

Atlanta Iron wraps up another successful season

Atlanta’s powerlifting team has made great strides in the four years that the program has been running at Atlanta High School and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down in the future.
Last season three lifters made their way to state and this season Atlanta Iron topped every meet they were involved in.

Atlanta Iron, QC powerlifters finish 1-2 at Maud invite

Atlanta and Queen City’s powerlifting teams were in action at the Maud Invitational Meet on Feb. 21. Atlanta placed first overall in the boys division with 38 points and Queen City placed second with 26 points.
Queen City’s girls finished second with 29 points, just three points away from topping Gilmer who finished with 31 points.

Tigers lift at Redwater

The Linden-Kildare Tigers powerlifting team competed in the Redwater Invitational Feb. 12, placing eighth. 

Reid Bynum finished third in the 148-pound weight class with a combined lift of 920 pounds.
