Atlanta tennis shines

Atlanta hosted a large tennis tournament on April 3, which boasted 10 varsity teams adding up to 92 matches played.
On April 2, AHS hosted a 9-team junior varsity tournament which added up to 88 matches.

Rabbs, Lady Rabbs compete at district golf tourney

At most schools winning is key when it comes to sports and consecutive lengths of success can often lead to expectancy.
The grand prize of sports in general is a championship no matter how small or large the platform.

Lady Tigers struggle vs. Pewitt

The Linden-Kildare Lady Tigers softball team allowed 12 runs in the top of the second inning, eventually losing to the Paul Pewitt Lady Brahmas 16-2 on April 3.
Siarra Johnson took the loss for L-K, as she allowed eight hits over five innings of work.

Runnin’ Rabbs’ track program gets back on course

Atlanta’s track program is heading back in the right direction and with a dedicated coaching staff and athletes the fruits of their labor may be seen soon enough.

Earlier in the year the Runnin’ Rabbs finished third at the Lobos Relays in Longview.

L-K Tigers maul Brahmas in district action, win 12-2

A combination of hot bats and a stellar pitching performance gave L-K a 12-2 win over district foes Paul Pewitt April 3. L-K now enjoys a 6-2 record, 3-2 in district.
Jordan Spaniol picked up his fourth win of the season, spreading out three hits over 3 2/3 innings and striking out three. Blake Burns allowed no hits and struck out three in 1 1/3 innings of relief.

Runnin’ Rabbs blaze to first place finish at Springhill

Track season seemed to move a little slower this year than in years prior due to cancellations because of inclement weather. 
Atlanta’s boys’ squad head coach, Nick Miller, scrambled to find his team a meet to run in after weather affected Texas High and Liberty-Eylau’s track meets and totally shutdown Atlanta’s own meet for only the second time in its history.

Diamond Days

QC tops Hughes Springs
Queen City tangled with a likely candidate to make the playoffs and won when they defeated District 16-3A foe Hughes Springs 6-2 in a solid effort.
Ashley Belote hit two triples, a single and had two RBIs for the Lady Bulldogs, Alyssa wiley had two hits, Shelby kennedy had two hits and two RBIs and kailyn Lansford had a single.

Tigers get 4th at track meet

Linden-Kildare High placed 4th out of 14 teams at last week’s Hughes Springs Relays.
Placing in the meet were: Micah Harrison won 2nd place in the 100M with a time of 11.30.

Queen City’s winterguard wins CANC title

Queen City’s band program is known throughout the state to anyone who pays attention to such but their colorguard program under the direction of Mike McGehee is making a name for themselves as well.
The “winterguard” recently won the Colorguard Association Novice Championships title out of 39 winterguards from schools ranging in classes 2A to 6A.

Tigers, Lady Tigers continue their march through district

Wells tosses 1-hit shutout
Curt Wells threw a one-hit shutout on March 24 to lead the Linden-Kildare Tigers past Daingerfield 10-0 in district play. 
The win was the team’s first in district play, giving them a 4-2, 1-2 record. Wells also recorded five strikeouts in the game.
