Nine Bulldogs seal 16-3A All-District superlatives

Queen City’s varsity baseball team had one of the toughest years in recent memory when it came to getting a baseball game in between rainy days.
Aside from the rain wreaking havoc on many area teams the Bulldogs were only able to get in a couple of home games due to their outfield layout.

Seven Lady Rabbs recognized on All-District list

The District 15-4A softball coaches met recently to vote on All-District players for the year and seven Lady Rabbs were selected to the list.
Atlanta’s lone senior, Jaci Cullins, was selected as the district’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player.

East TX Tumblers conduct another successful camp

Becky McClure, owner and operator of East Texas Tumblers in downtown Atlanta, recently held her 9th annual Cheer Camp with more than 40 participants taking part in the event.
As always McClure had help from some of her former and current students who taught the younger cheerleaders how to develop their strength, speed, flexibility and coordination.

Eleven Lady Bulldogs grace the 16-3A All-District list

Queen City’s softball team battled through a tough district schedule and a season of washed out games to grab third place in district 16-3A.
The Lady Bulldogs won the Bi-District championship over Hooks in style, but lost in the second round of the playoffs to Lone Oak in a double-header contest with both games decided by one run.

Seven L-K Tigers named to All-District baseball team

The Linden-Kildare Tigers varsity baseball team wrapped up their season this week with the announcement of postseason honors.
The team had three members named to First Team All-District and four to Second Team All-District.

Linden-Kildare High School seniors honored at banquet

Linden-Kildare High honored the dedication of their students-athletes May 18 with the annual Athletic Recognition Ceremony.
During the ceremony, coaches from the school’s 12 athletic programs had the opportunity to introduce team members and brag about their seasons’ accomplishments.

Five more AHS athletes decide on college destinations

Five Atlanta athletes gathered in the high school library on May 20, to announce their college decisions in front of family, friends, coaches and staff.
In the past four years under AD Matt McClure 31 athletes and an untold number of walk-ons or enrollees have made the decision to further their athletic career at the college of their choice.

McLeod honors athletes at annual All-Sports Banquet

McLeod’s athletes, coaches and faithful followers of the athletic program gathered on Tuesday, May 19, to honor the hard working young men and women who helped put the Longhorns on the map.
Highlights of the evening included junior Bradley Lambeth and freshman Makayla Fielder winning the coveted Longhorn and Lady Longhorn awards for their hard work, encouraging their teammates and for being all-around great student-athletes in different sports.

Queen City honors athletes at All-Sports Awards Banquet

Queen City athletes, coaches, administrators and families converged on the campus of Morris Upchurch Middle School on May 12, to honor the athletes at their annual sports banquet.
QC Athletic Director Justin Burk gave thanks to a several people who were involved in QC athletics throughout the season.
