M.U.M.S. volleyball teams win New Boston tourney

The seventh and eighth grade volleyball teams from Morris Upchurch Middle School traveled to New Boston to compete in a tournament on Saturday, Sept. 26.  Both teams won the overall championship by defeating every other team in the tournament.  
The seventh grade team started their day against New Boston.

Phillips wins Dave Campbell's Player of the Week

Tyrell Phillips of Atlanta was named Player of the Week by Dave Campbell's Texas Football. Phillips had 313 rushing yards and 7 TDs in the game against the Pleasant Grove Hawks.

L-K junior high cross country teams place well

Linden-Kildare’s junior high cross country teams traveled to Gilmer on Sept. 12, for the Gilmer Buckeyes Invitational. 
The junior high girls’ team placed second overall at the meet out of several quality schools competing.

Tigers top Harleton, 34-21, on Homecoming night

Linden-Kildare came into last Friday night’s match with Harleton on a one game win streak after defeating Redwater the Friday before.
The Tigers fell behind early in a game that would seem to go either way until the end of the game, but L-K scored twice in the fourth quarter to secure a 34-21 win over the Wildcats.

Bulldogs fall to Shelbyville at home in non-district tilt

The Queen City Bulldogs returned home last Friday night, Sept. 25, after three straight away games.  
It was Military Appreciation Night as the Bulldogs took on the Shelbyville Dragons in their final non-district match of the season.

Rabbs fall to Liberty-Eylau, 44-43, in shootout

Atlanta limped into their final non-district game against Liberty-Eylau with several key starters out due to injury, but the amazing depth that the Rabbs possess is one reason why the Leopards escaped with a 44-43 win.

McLeod junior high hosts meet on Sept. 15

McLeod hosted a junior high cross country meet on Sept. 15, and both Longhorn programs finished well.
McLeod placed first in the girls division with 32 points followed by Queen City with 64, Red Lick had 81 and Atlanta finished with 83.

Longhorns’ XC teams compete at Miller Grove invite
