Lady Bulldogs’ volleyball program sits above the rest

Queen City’s volleyball program has been second to none in terms of district championships from junior high and up the past few years and this season was no different.
The M.U.M.S. volleyball teams were on top of the world as they dominated nearly every team they faced. The seventh grade team finished the year with a 12-1 record and the eighth grade team completed the season with a perfect 13-0 record.

Vess helps Band of Champions RISE from ashes

One of the definitions of a champion is a person who has defeated all opponents in a competition or series of competitions. 
Queen City’s Band of Champions certainly can claim the adage after solidifying themselves as one of the best bands across the state in their respective class over the past few years.

’Dawgs slip past L-K 36-34 in Cass County Clash

LINDEN—The 2015 version of the Cass County Clash, played on a Thursday night due to heavy rain forecasted for Friday, was not for the faint of heart as the final outcome was not decided until the final two minutes of the game.
Down by eight points with 2:41 left in the game, Montavius  Tyson (four carriers for 34 yards) powered his way in from the one-yard line to make the score 36-34.

Rabbs drop first district game to Roughriders

Atlanta and Center both entered Thursday night’s district match up sitting at 2-0 in district play.
When two undefeated teams meet one of those squads leave with a loss, and unfortunately Atlanta was handed a 30-7 defeat at the hands of the Roughriders.

Bulldogs victorious over L-K in Cass County Clash

The Queen City Bulldogs traveled to Linden-Kildare High School last Thursday night, Oct. 22, to take on the Tigers in the Cass County Clash. The game was moved up from Friday night due to the threat of rain, but that did not stop the Bulldog faithful from showing up to support their team.

The Bloomburg Wildcats’ cross country teams competed in the District Cross Country Meet at Lake Bob Sandlin on Oct. 15, and represented the school very well.
The varsity girls’ team will be going back to regionals after finishing third in district and just one point behind second place Union Hill.

Queen City falls to Pewitt, 41-20, on Homecoming night

Queen City hosted the Paul Pewitt Brahmas last Friday night, Oct. 16, as the Bulldogs celebrated Homecoming. There was a great turnout in the home stands as Queen City looked to build on last week’s solid performance against Hughes Springs. Pewitt defeated DeKalb in the previous week and looked to continue their success in district play.

Rabbs top Gladewater, 35-28, in huge district contest

Atlanta faced one of the toughest teams in East Texas on Friday night, but the Rabbits (2-0) battled hard and claimed a 35-28 decision over Gladewater.
The Rabbs’ defense scored twice on fumble recoveries and overall the penalties were light as the Rabbits won a tough scrap against a team which beat them 36-14 last year and won district.

MUMS Volleyball
The MUMS volleyball teams traveled to Mt. Vernon on Oct. 5, to face their toughest opponent of the season. The seventh grade team received their first loss of the year losing in two games by scores of 25-15 and 25-17. The top servers for QC seventh grade were Madison Parker with seven points followed by Reagan Wright with six points

Longhorns’ XC teams compete at 16-2A District Meet

McLeod’s cross country teams competed at the UIL 16-2A District XC Meet at Lear Park in Longview on Oct. 12.
The varsity boys’ team claimed the top spot and the district crown as they topped Big Sandy, Union Grove and East Texas Charter.
