Lady Bulldogs pound Waskom Lady Wildcats 63-34

Queen City’s varsity girls’ basketball team opened their season with a convincing 63-34 win over Waskom on Nov. 10.
The Lady Bulldogs (1-0) jumped out to a 21-11 first quarter lead and enjoyed a 37-15 lead at the break.

Rabbs top Bullard Panthers 44-22 in playoff game

Atlanta made plenty of noise in their first playoff game with a resounding 44-22 win over Bullard last Saturday afternoon in Hallsville.
This is the fourth year in a row that the Rabbs have scored more than 40 points in the first round.
In 2012 they beat Wills Point 72-32, in 2013 they defeated Emory-Rains 46-15 and last year they topped Melissa 62-47.

M.U.M.S. football enjoys another solid year

The Queen City Bulldogs’ junior high football teams completed their 2015 football season last Thursday night at home against DeKalb.
The seventh grade team posted a perfect record of 8-0 on the season after beating DeKalb 24-12 in their final game, and was crowned 7-3A District Champions. The young Bulldogs were able to outscore their opponents 214-96 on the year.

Lady Bulldogs litter 16-3A All-District volleyball team

With volleyball season wrapped up around the area; 16-3A All-District superlatives were released and the list is littered with Queen City Lady Bulldogs who finished the season as Co-District champions with Mt. Vernon.

Bulldogs end season with 26-14 loss to DeKalb

The Queen City Bulldogs traveled to DeKalb last Friday night to take on the Bears for the final game of district play.
The winner would advance to the state playoffs. 
DeKalb scored first on a quarterback keeper from 40 yards out to take a 7-0 lead, but QC answered later with Malik Wilburn crossing the goal line.

Rabbs trounce Panthers, 62-25, in muddy affair

Atlanta entered Friday night’s match as heavy favorites over Spring Hill (1-4) and the Rabbits (4-1) didn’t disappoint as they steamrolled the Panthers 62-25 in very wet conditions.
Heavy rainfall throughout the contest left the field in a muddy state, but that didn’t stop the Rabbs from racking up 400 yards rushing.

Lady Bulldogs’ volleyball program sits above the rest

Queen City’s volleyball program has been second to none in terms of district championships from junior high and up the past few years and this season was no different.
The M.U.M.S. volleyball teams were on top of the world as they dominated nearly every team they faced. The seventh grade team finished the year with a 12-1 record and the eighth grade team completed the season with a perfect 13-0 record.

Five Lady Tigers selected to All-District volleyball team

Although the Linden-Kildare’s varsity volleyball squad had a roller coaster season the team never failed to dress out and play to the best of their ability.
That alone exhibits determination and pride which was noticed by opposing coaches to the point that five Lady Tigers were selected to the 16-3A All-District volleyball team.

Tigers go out on top, defeats Hughes Springs 32-19

Linden-Kildare’s football team had its share of ups and downs this season under first-year head coach Gary Schultz, but that’s expected when a new coach brings in a new plan.

Last Friday night L-K hosted longstanding rival Hughes Springs on Senior Night, and the Tigers went out on top by beating the Mustangs 32-19.

Bulldogs battle, eventually fall to Hooks Hornets, 27-6

The Queen City Bulldogs were at home last Friday night to take on the Hooks Hornets in district action. The Bulldogs entered the contest coming off a big win at Linden-Kildare the previous week, and the Hornets were looking to build on their current seven-game win streak.
