Atlanta, Queen City bands rock Four States contest

Several bands from Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana gathered and performed before hundreds of spectators at the Four States Invitational Marching Contest which is sponsored annually by Texarkana Independent School District and held the first Saturday in October.
Both Atlanta and Queen City bands took part in the event hosted at Grim Park on Saturday, Oct. 3.
Atlanta’s Big Bad Band from Rabbitland and Queen City’s Band of Champions represented Cass County well.

Lady Tigers continue to grind through district schedule

Linden-Kildare’s volleyball team continued to grind through their district schedule over the past couple of weeks.
 
Queen City
On Sept. 28, the Lady Tigers traveled to Queen City to play their rival in a district match.
L-K battled the Lady Bulldogs throughout the contest, but fell in three straight sets by scores of 25-13, 25-16 and 25-19.

L-KJH cross country teams compete at Redwater meet

The Stephens Junior High XC team traveled to Redwater on Oct. 3 to compete in the “Run Through Dragon Country” Invitational. 

L-K’s own Alayna Mason completed the race being awarded second place overall. QC Bulldogs give Mustangs all they can handle

The Queen City Bulldogs returned to the gridiron last Friday night, Oct. 9, as they took on the Hughes Springs Mustangs. 
It was the first district game for both teams and Breast Cancer Awareness Night for Queen City.

Hooks Hornets sting L-K Tigers 40-13 to open district

LINDEN-- Linden-Kildare fans knew they were going to be in a fight Friday night when they hosted the Hooks Hornets in their district opener.
The “W” however, went to the visiting team with Hooks walking away with a 40-13 victory.

Rabbs ground pesky Pleasant Grove Hawks, 53-31 Atlanta running back Tyrell Phillips eclipses 1,000 yards rushing for the season

The last time the Rabbits’ football team was on the field they lost a 1-point heart breaker to Liberty-Eylau.
After a much needed BYE week, the “Rabbit Express” hosted a much-improved Pleasant Grove squad in their first district game of the year on Oct. 9.

Tigers prepare for district, looking for third straight win

LINDEN — The Linden-Kildare Tigers kick off their district season on Oct. 9 when they host the Hooks Hornets.
The Hornets, who advanced to the Bi-District round of the playoffs last year, came into the season picked to finished second in district.

Cass County teams take part in Titus County Fair invite

Several Cass County schools, including Atlanta, Queen City, Linden-Kildare, Bloomburg and McLeod, competed in the Titus County Fair Invitational on Sept. 26.
The field consisted of 5A and 6A teams competing with one another, and a ton of teams from 4A and down which resulted in a very busy day.

Queen City dominates, runs district record to 5-0

Queen City’s varsity volleyball team traveled to Chapel Hill on Sept. 25, for some exciting volleyball action. 
The Lady Bulldogs dominated the opening set with a 25-20 victory, followed by a close 28-26 win in set two.
