Arredondo no-hits L-E in Rabbits 6-0 win over the cats

Atlanta pitcher Jose Arredondo was on fire from the hill as he dished out a no-hitter, and rang up 10 batters over seven innings in  the Rabbs’ 6-0 win over Liberty-Eylau on April 2.

Simmons, Cooper rep AHS at State Powerlifting Meet

In just a few short years the Atlanta Iron powerlifting program went from brand new to experienced under the tutelage of Head Coach Craig Fant.

In the past three years of the young program six young Atlanta Iron men have graced the state stage of the powerlifting meet, and one of those brought home a gold medal last year.Read more in our e-edition:

When former Athletic Director Gary Schultz resigned a few weeks ago the L-K CISD entered search mode for a new AD.

QC FFA competes in different land contests

Queen City FFA placed first in the Forage Evaluation Contest and Land Judging Contests hosted by the Marion-Cass Soil Water Conservation District on March 24. 
Rianna Granberry was the high point individual in Forage Evaluation, with teammate Darian Giles placing a close second.  
Maggie Clark was the second High Point Individual in the Land Judging Contest.

Jared Lincoln named SAA Field Athlete of the Week

CONWAY, Ark. - Hendrix College junior Jared Lincoln was named the Southern Athletic Association Men’s Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday. 
 Lincoln recorded a pair of third place finishes and broke a school record at the Rhodes College Invitational in Memphis, Tenn. Saturday. Lincoln, from Atlanta, Texas, broke the Warriors’ 11-year old discus record with a throw of 46.30 meters (151 feet-11 inches), which is tied for the fourth-best mark in the nation. 
He was also third in the shot put with a mark of 13.55 meters (44 feet-5.5 inches).
The Warriors will host the Hendrix Multis at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium on Friday and Saturday.

Five Wildcat ballers receive 24A All-District honors

Five Bloomburg basketball players took home 24A All-District honors recently.
Sophomore Erin Evans was selected to the Second Team and teammate Trinity Mouser, a sophomore, was named to the Honorable Mention Team.
Senior Nathan McGill received First Team honors, junior Jordan Clayton obtained Second Team honors and junior Brett Crumpler acquired Honorable Mention honors.

Rabbs take 3-1 loss against North Lamar

The Rabbits hosted North Lamar on March 25, in district play but fell to the Panthers 3-1 in a hard-fought game.
