Dwight Lester Byler, 62, of Atlanta, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at his residence surrounded by family.
He was born Sept. 28, 1950, in Tomball to Edward and Muriel Byler. He was a retired truck driver with 43 years on the road and was a member of Cross Creek Cowboy Church of Atlanta. He also enjoyed reading and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Muriel Byler.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Stevens Byler of Atlanta; step-son, Clayton Coble of Abilene; step-daughter, Rheanne Grant of Atlanta; one brother, James Byler of Houston; four sisters, Brenda Byler of Atlanta, Betty Byler of Houston, Sharon Novak of LaGrange and Donna Hollister of Brenham; two grandchildren, Tyler Cormier and Haley Stebelton; and a number of other relatives.

OUIDA L. THOMPSON

Ouida L. Thompson, 92, of Atlanta, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, Aug.17, 2013, in a Texarkana hospital.
She was born Nov. 1, 1920, to Asa and Ocalla Childree. She was owner and operator of Paul’s Cleaners and was a homemaker. She was a member of West Side Baptist Church and loved playing skip-Bo and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Paul Thompson.
She is survived by one son, Charlie Thompson and wife Janet of Atlanta; one daughter, Tina Pond and husband Billy of Atlanta; one brother, Johnny Bud Childree of Georgia; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at Hanner Funeral Service.

Dennis James Larry, 57, of Atlanta, died Friday, August 9, 2013, at his home. He was born on April 21, 1956.  
Survivors include his daughter, Chasite Epps of DeSoto; four brothers , James A. Larry, Sr., Roy L. Larry, Ira L. Larry and Anthony R. Larry all of Atlanta; three sisters, Melva Smith of Texarkana, Diane Hunter and Sandra L. Rose of Atlanta; three grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.   Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Enon First Baptist Church under the direction of Linden Funeral Home.

Arthur Lawrence Nannery, 76, of Queen City, died August 9, 2013, at his niece’s home in Queen City. 
He was born May 25, 1937, was a wonderful man and known to all as Uncle Art.  He is dearly loved and will be missed tremendously.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence Nannery, Sr. and Anna Schied Nannery; his wife, Josephine Nannery; and his three brothers, John Nannery, Lawrence Nannery and Thomas Nannery.

Debra Gail Stone, 60, of Douglassville, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013 at her residence.
She was born Nov. 16, 1952, in Atlanta, to Sweet Dog Stone and Clariece Stone. She was a truck driver and a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church. She loved quilting and collecting things.
Her parents, Sweet Dog Stone and Clarice Stone and two brothers, Woody and David Stone, preceded her in death.
She is survived by three sons, Joe Tarver of Douglassville, Walter Tarver of Douglassville and Jesse Mathis and fiancé Julia Hunter of Texarkana; one daughter, Leann Lacy and husband Tony of Ore City; one brother, Neal Stone of Douglassville; one sister, Lynn Pennington of Fordyce, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives.

MAC L. BEARSS

God called the Rev. Mac L. Bearss, 72, of Atlanta, to his heavenly peace on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013.
He served as Pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Atlanta. He has been in the ministry as a layman since in 1970, and entered the seminary to become a pastor in 1980. He loved the Lord and was passionate about sharing his saving faith in Jesus Christ. One of the family’s favorite memories was his nightly routine of eating a big bowl of pecan praline ice cream and a game of Cribbage.
His parents Leroy and Birdena Bearss preceded him in death.

Kevin New, 49, of Queen City, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 30, 2013, in a Texarkana hospital.
He was born May 29, 1964, in Haynesville, La., to Roy and Nell New. He was retired from International Paper and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He loved fishing, hunting, shooting pool and dancing.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, D. R. Benefield and paternal grandfather, Joe New.

Ruby Irene Templeton, 96 of Bright Star, Ark., died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, in Texarkana.
She was born June 14, 1917, in Bright Star, Ark., and was a member of Olive Branch Methodist Church. She enjoyed visiting with friends and reminding everyone that she was the boss.
Her parents; Bill and Velma Adcock; her husband, Howard Templeton; her brothers, Knowles Adcock and Leo Adcock; her sisters, Naomi Harrist and Willie Lois Thomas; and a son-in-law, Dickie Clements, preceded her in death.
