EDDIE NEESE

Feb. 23, 1938 - Sept. 2, 2013
Eddie R. Neese, 75, of Benbrook, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, in a hospice facility in Ft. Worth. He was born Feb. 23, 1938, in Cass County to Eddie Merritt and Ruby Pauline Renfro Neese. He was raised in the Bear Creek community near Linden. 
He was a Southern Baptist pastor and served most recently at Prairieville Baptist Church after pastoring for many years in Texas and Montana. He also served as missionary in both Indonesia and Malaysia. 
Survivors include his wife, Judy, of Benbrook; two sons, David Neese and wife Carrie of Nacogdoches and Jonathan Neese of Wichita Falls; one daughter, Brenda Snider and husband Mark of Benbrook; four brothers, Eugene Neese of Linden, Don Neese of Shreveport, La., Freddie Neese of Ft. Worth and Dale Neese of Linden; two sisters, Lois Seitz of Plano and Janie Debenport of Arlington; nine grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Derrell McCreery, 56, of Bloomburg, went to be with the Lord, Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at his residence in Bryan’s Mill.
He was born Dec. 29, 1956, in Vivian, La., to Martel, Sr. and Charlotte McCreery. He was a self-employed carpenter and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Doddridge, Ark., He loved wood working, billiards and playing the harmonica.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete McCreery and Charlotte Taul.

William Lee Wormington, 60, of Linden died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at his home in Linden.
He was born Nov. 24, 1952, in Glendale, Ariz., to Charles William and Mary Sue Parsons Wormington.
He was a maintenance technician for Wadley Medical Center and attended First Assembly of God Church in Linden. He served in the Texas Army National Guard for 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his father and as sister, Lelia Green.

Dorothy Lou Heath Smith, 67, of Atlanta, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013 at Linden Healthcare.
Her father, mother and four sisters preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, John W. Smith, Sr.; three sons, Eddie Smith, Reginald Smith and John W. Smith, Jr.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at the Enon First Baptist Church in Atlanta with the Rev. John W. Smith, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Gum Springs Cemetery in Douglassville under the direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.

SYBIL BICKHAM JOHNSON

We are saddened by the loss of the much-beloved matriarch of the Bickham Family of Cass County. Sybil Bickham Johnson, 96, was the sixth of nine children born to John Calvin Bickham (1856-1932) and Eugenia Viola Pruitt Bickham (1883-1945).
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Chesley Johnson (1922-1986); son, David O'Neal Johnson (1950-1994); four brothers, William Grogan "Jack", Brant, J.C. and Colquitt Bickham; and four sisters, Opal Bedgood, Mary Blizzard, Charlene Law and Luryn Toney.

Billy K. Pratt, 79, of Atlanta, passed from this life, Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at his residence surrounded by his loving family and dearest friends.
He was born March 15, 1934, in Prattville, Texas in Delta County to Handel Harper and Melba Pratt. He was retired from the Texas Department of Transportation. He was an active member of the Atlanta Church of Christ, where he served as a former deacon and treasurer for 30 years.
An avid outdoorsman, he loved and appreciated God’s wondrous creation. He enjoyed hunting locally and cherished his adventures in the Rocky Mountains. He leaves behind a legacy of heart-warming, poetic prayers that praised God for the beauties of nature that he awoke to each morning.
His parents, Handel Harper and Melba Pratt, preceded him in death.

She was born Feb. 13, 1925, in Sturgis, S. D., to James and Mary Elmore. She was a homemaker and a member of the Texas Airstream Harbor and a member of First Christian Church of Atlanta. She loved sewing, baking, gardening, traveling and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Ketner; and seven siblings.
