Lorraine Ketner, 88, of Atlanta, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, in a local nursing home.
She was born Feb. 13, 1925, in Sturgis, S. D., to James and Mary Elmore. She was a homemaker and a member of the Texas Airstream Harbor and a member of First Christian Church of Atlanta. She loved sewing, baking, gardening, traveling and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Ketner; and seven siblings.
She is survived by one son, Jerry Ketner of Lumberton, Texas; one daughter, Donna Shipp of Atlanta; two brothers, David Elmore of Spokane, Wash., Dale Elmore of Coeur d ‘Alene, Idaho; two sisters, Phyllis Littlefield of Seattle, Wash., and Myrtle Kline of California; three grandchildren, Stacey Shipp Alexander and husband Terry, Jody Shipp and wife Jen and Randy Shipp and wife Katy; six great-grandchildren, Seth Alexander, Gracie Alexander, Natalie Shipp, Clayton Shipp, Connor Shipp and Aaron Shipp; and a number of other relatives.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, August 26, at Hanner Funeral Service.
Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, at Queen City Cemetery under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service with Bro. Guy Williams officiating.
