Derrell McCreery, 56, of Bloomburg, went to be with the Lord, Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at his residence in Bryan’s Mill.
He was born Dec. 29, 1956, in Vivian, La., to Martel, Sr. and Charlotte McCreery. He was a self-employed carpenter and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Doddridge, Ark., He loved wood working, billiards and playing the harmonica.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete McCreery and Charlotte Taul.
He is survived by two daughters, Jessica Gray and husband Rocky of Texarkana, Ark., and Jacquline McCreery of Bloomburg; his stepmother, Cheryl McCreery of Bloomburg; one brother, Martel McCreery, Jr. of Bloomburg; four sisters, Linda Stanley of Little Rock, Ark., Machelle Alexander of Texarkana, Ark., Deanna McCreery of Bloomburg, and Andrea Nicole McCreery of Bloomburg; two grandchildren, Luke Gray and Everleigh Gray; and a number of other relatives.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Hanner Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Doddridge with Bro. Donald Sheffield officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Doddridge under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.
