BILLY JACK MOTE
May 9, 1927 - June 4, 2017
Billy Jack Mote, 90 of Atlanta, went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 4, 2017, in an Atlanta nursing home.
He was born May 9, 1927, in Paducah, Texas, to O. L. and Rosaleen Woods Mote. He was retired from Texas Department of Transportation, served in the U. S. Army and was a Baptist by faith. He enjoyed reading his Bible daily, spending time with family at his cabin on Caddo Lake, fishing, playing dominoes and woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Joyce Bedgood Mote; and a grandson, Ethan Nunn Mote.
He is survived by a son, Marc Mote and wife Gina of Atlanta; two daughters, Marsha Mote Stanton and husband Barry of Pearl River, La., and Rosemary Mote of Dallas; four grandchildren, Adam Stanton, Carly Mitchell and husband Nick, Logan Mote and Austin Mote; a great-granddaughter, Sophia Stanton; and a number of other relatives.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, at Hanner Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, at the Hanner Funeral Chapel with Bro. Hal Haltom officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.

JOE BIVINS SCOTT
March 11, 1937 - June 3, 2017
Joe Scott, 80, of Atlanta, left this life, Saturday, June 3, 2017, in a Texarkana hospital with his daughter by his side.
He was born, March 11, 1937, in Atlanta, to W. E. and Jeff Scott. He attended Atlanta High School, graduating in 1955 and then he went to Arlington State University on a football scholarship. He returned to East Texas in 1957, and attended Texarkana College. He joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and was a member for 60 years. He was employed as a commercial electrician and worked on projects, such as DFW Airport and nuclear plants. He was also owner of Big Cypress Shopping Center in Karnack for 10 years. He was known as a daredevil, enjoying racing boats, flying planes and having 100 jumps as a skydiver.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Natalie Bivins Scott and husband Gavi Colaleo of Austin and Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, Mike Scott and wife Martha of Atlanta; grandson, Joe Bivins Colaleo of Austin and Tucson; nephew, Michael Scott of Bartlesville, Okla.; niece, Michele Hartline of Doddridge, Ark.; and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, at the Scott residence, 1521 FM 2328, Atlanta.
Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, at the Scott residence under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.

Fernando Ballesteros, 54, of Naples, died Monday, May 29, 2017 at his residence.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Daingerfield. Interment followed at Lady of the Pines Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home of Hughes Springs.

Simeon Douglas Robertson Sr., 76, of Atlanta, died Sunday, May 28, 2017, at Golden Villa Nursing Home.
Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 3, at Tanglewood Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta. He was cremated under the direction of Queen City Funeral Home.
