Council votes yes to loan

Sales taxes continue healthy trend in Cass County cities

Sales tax revenues are up average of almost 11 percent so far this year in Cass County cities, and for the month of March rebates average 4 percent more than the same period last year.
The total allocation to all of the cities within the county is $193,737, up 4.03 percent from the March 2012 total of $186,216. Maggie Cobb Memorial 5K set for April 27 at TAMU-T

Maggie Cobb was just nine years old when she was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor.  Maggie was a third grade student at Pleasant Grove Elementary School who loved to read, sing, practice Taekwondo, dance, travel, and be with her family.  
Maggie is the granddaughter of Roger and Linda Hailey, of Atlanta.

Moulton murder conviction upheld in 6th Court of Appeals

An Atlanta man’s successful appeal was overturned by the state’s highest court and his murder conviction upheld on Wednesday.
The 6th Court of Appeals in Texarkana overturned David Len Moulton’s case in March 2010, which could have led to another trial, but the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals in Austin has ruled the 5th District Court conviction was not in error.
