Texas News Service - They may keep your eggs safe, but shopping carts are a major source of injuries for children in the U.S., according to a new study. Over the last 20 years, more than 500,000 kids were treated in emergency rooms for injuries from shopping cart use, including falls and entrapment. Some were due to the behavior of parents or children, but there also are flaws in shopping cart design, says Dr. Gary Smith, director, Center for Injury Research and Policy, Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
