Caddo Lake exhibit on display at show in Dallas

The Sun to Moon Gallery in Dallas will host an exhibit featuring Caddo Lake. Conservation stewardship program renewal deadline looms

Lyons, NE - The clock is ticking for farmers and ranchers whose 5 year Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) enrollment contracts expire this year. Re-enrolling land for another 5 years requires a renewal application to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) and the end of the re-enrollment period is rapidly approaching - farmers and ranchers who enrolled land in CSP in 2010 have until Sept. 12, 2014 to initiate the re-enrollment process.

AES Motto: Be a Buddy Not a Bully!

Atlanta Elementary School is a bully-free zone.  Time is invested at the beginning of each AES school year to ensure students understand the importance of showing kindness and compassion.  
The school year kicks off with a student orientation led by Ms. Whatley, principal and Mrs. Holland, school counselor.

Fairview presents $2,000 to L-KCISD Pre-K program

Fairview Junior-Senior High School Reunion Corporation presented a $2,000 check to Linden-Kildare Elementary School for its pre-kindergarten program on Aug. 18 at the Linden-Kildare Consolidated Independent School District board meeting. 
Fairview Reunion Corporation First Vice President Malthus Northcutt and Treasurer Kathy Allen presented the check to elementary school Principal Marcella Young and Assistant Principal Shekita Martin.

Hood graduates from CDI program

Robbie Hood, C.P.M. was among the 28 individuals who were awarded graduation certificates during the 28th annual Community Development Institute-Central (CDI) at the University of Central Arkansas on Aug. 8. Hood completed all three years of the institute’s program of study.

West receives plaque

Sheriff Larry Rowe, Chief Deputy Roy Barker and Cass County Judge Charles McMichael present Pam West with a plaque for distinguished service in memory of her husband Investigator Mark West which she gave back to the department to display in the sheriff’s office. West worked for the sheriff’s office for four years but had been in law enforcement for many years. Atlanta ISD trains employees in first aid, CPR

CPR, also known as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, is the sort of thing people usually don’t think about- until it is needed. Atlanta ISD is taking steps to make sure when the need arises, someone will be there to help.
This summer 65 of the school district’s approximately 130 staff members underwent training and certification under the direction of Linda Howard, health services coordinator for the school district and registered nurse.

Earl Thomas Conley to perform Saturday night at MCT Theater

Music City Texas Theater presents Country Music legend Earl Thomas Conley at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30. 
With songs like “Nobody Falls Like a Fool,” “Once in a Blue Moon” and “Fire & Smoke,” Conley charted more than 30 singles on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs, 18 of which reached Number One.   His 1983 “Holding Her and Loving You,” brought him multiple Grammy nominations.

Linden Healthcare Center hosted a Back to School Bash for school age children on Aug. 16 at the Linden Healthcare Center Pavilion. There were several games and activities for the children to participate in.
