Angel Tree up in LHC foyer

Be an angel this Christmas season to a Linden Healthcare Center resident and brighten their day. 
The residents’ Angel Tree is on display in the foyer of Linden Healthcare Center. Anyone can select an angel from the tree to purchase a gift for that resident. Community members are encouraged to adopt a resident.

Open House to benefit ‘Rainbow Room’

The Cass County District Clerk’s Office invites everyone to its 5th Annual Christmas Open House to benefit the “Rainbow Room.” The reception will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18.
The Rainbow Room is a charitable organization that provides direct goods and services to abused and neglected children of Cass County served by Child Protective Services.

Community Christmas concert Sunday

Annual event slated at Atlanta State Park

The annual Christmas in the Park event will take place Dec. 13-14 at Atlanta State Park. The gates will open at dark and all are welcome to enjoy the local state park facilities.
Campers will receive free camping just for showing up and decorating their campsites.
The event will include a drive through tour for visitors, which is also free.
Children young and old will have the opportunity to meet the Grinch and Smokey the Bear. Depending on the weather, Santa may make his appearance at a tent near the park’s main pavilion. Bring your own camera for pictures.
Refreshments and other treats will be served. The park is still asking for donations of treats and hot chocolate.

LKCISD accepting nominations

Linden-Kildare Consolidated Independent School District is now accepting nominations for students who may need gifted/talented services. 
This program is designed for students who exhibit intellectual and creative thinking abilities at an extraordinary level not normally served in the regular classroom. Services are provided upon identification of education needs of the student.
Anyone wishing to refer a student attending Linden-Kildare CISD in kindergarten through 11th grade this school year is asked to go by the student’s campus office and request a copy of the nomination form.
The nomination period will continue through Friday, Dec. 20. 
All nomination forms must be completed and returned no later than Dec. 20.
