Local band making big splash

The Jason Helms Band (JHB) owned the stage Saturday night. The show benefited the Percy Johnson Burn Foundation in Shreveport and took place at Auntie Skinners during the Outlaws National Car Show in Jefferson, Texas. The band recently named Live Music Band of the year by the Texas Music Awards and Academy of Texas Music, Inc. may have a couple “hometown heroes” of their own. They are looking forward to even more success with the upcoming release of their second album. Students learning to solve conflicts

 

Students at Linden-Kildare Elementary have been learning positive ways to solve minor conflicts using ideas from Kelso’s Choice Conflict Management Skills program. 
Leah Hamilton, school counselor, presented guidance lessons to students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Many students attended a Spring Fling held Friday, April 12, at McLeod ISD.
The event was planned by middle school teachers as a way for students to spend a fun evening with their peers.

Mae Luster Stephens Junior High hosted its second annual Mini Relay For Life on April 12 at the baseball field.
It was a youth oriented version of the community Relay For Life. This year’s theme was “One Day, One Night, One Team, One Fight.”

Linden-Kildare High School’s drama students presented a community performance April 4, of their One-Act Play “All My Sons” by Arthur Miller in Nelson-Murphey Auditorium at the Linden-Kildare High School.
