Fifth graders groove their way up to junior high

Linden-Kildare Elementary School held a Moving Up to Junior High ceremony for 61 fifth graders on May 30. Various awards of achievement for the year were presented by teachers.
The President’s Award for Educational Excellence was presented to 15 students by counselor Leah Hamilton.

Cass County Relay For Life reports great year

Relay For Life is more than just fundraising; it’s a mission and sometimes a personal one at that. 
The Cass County Relay For Life chapter held their end of the year meeting at Catfish King on Thursday, June 6, to announce between the county’s 23 relay teams and 325 participants, $50,530.86 has been raised to date. Remembering Foster Skating Rink

School days will soon be over for the year. Final days are exciting for the students. Today’s students have different outlooks than the ones of the 50’s as I remember. 
The excitement was planning a school trip to Daingerfield State Park or Foster’s Skating Rink out from Linden on Hwy 130. The skates were rented and the music was loud. Linden-Kildare band awarded for achievements

Linden-Kildare High School Band Boosters hosted a banquet May 28 at Pinecrest Baptist Church to honor band members. 
Band Director Don Hardin presented certificates of participation to all the band students in attendance. Special awards were also presented to several students. Hardin expressed how proud he was of his band students especially the seniors. Stoney LaRue gives a solid performance Saturday night at Music City Theatre.
