September is the time of the year for dividing your daylilies. You will need to split up your daylily clumps every 3-5 years in order for your daylilies to continue to bloom vigorously. Make sure you plant the divided clumps at least one month to 6 weeks before the first frost in order for the daylily fans to get accustomed to the new soil. (Here in Northeast Texas, we will plant from the first of September until around the 15-20th of October before the first frost hits in mid November.)
