CRT members visit Oil City Museum, Trading Post

The James Bowie Children of the Republic of Texas (CRT) members of the Bowie and Cass Counties visited the State Oil Museum in Oil City, La. on Aug. 3. L-K CISD takes top honors in Accountability Ratings

What seemed to many the longest two years possible the staff and school board of LK CISD celebrated the release of district and campus ratings.  
The story begins in 2011 when all district and campus ratings were frozen for two years.  At that time, Linden-Kildare CISD was rated Acceptable, Linden Elementary Recognized, Mae Luster Stephens Junior High Acceptable and Linden-Kildare High School was rated Academically Unacceptable due to poor scores in mathematics.  Due to legislative action, a change in the accountability system was made and these ratings remained the same.   Read more in our e-edition:  http://www.etypeservices.com/SWF/LocalUser/Casscounty1//Magazine35294/Full/index.aspx?id=35294

Reunion time for McLeod grads

Longhorns, near and far, should make plans to “hit the trail” and head to McLeod, Texas on Saturday, Oct. 12 for a time of meeting and greeting.

Police departments receive $3,000 for Click It or Ticket

The Atlanta and Queen City Police Departments each received a $3,000 check from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) recently for its participation in the annual Click It or Ticket mobilization campaign. This school year is off to a great start

With three weeks behind us here at L-K CISD the year has been a very good one. I encourage you to attend one of our many extracurricular events that have begun. These events include our cross country runners, volleyball teams, football teams, band performances, and our Tigerettes and cheerleader performances on Friday night.
