World Champion Bullfighter to emcee rodeo

ProRodeo Hall of Famer and five-time World Champion Bullfighter Rob Smets, better known as “The Kamikaze,” will be the announcer for the 13th Annual Cass County Championship Rodeo.

‘Horns edge Eagles, 6-4

McLeod fell behind Detroit early in the game, but put together a solid comeback and bested the Eagles at home 6-4 in league action on Tuesday, March 19.

Rabbs fall to Paris, 6-2

Atlanta traveled to Paris on Friday, March 22, and lost to the Wildcats 6-2 in league action.
Paris built a 5-0 lead after three innings and looked to have control, but two runs in the top of the fourth brought Atlanta within three runs.

Atlanta hosts tennis tourney

After a four hour rain delay on Friday, March 22, Atlanta kicked off their  invitational and had great success against the schools present.
Drew Cannon and Nancy Moreno placed second in mixed doubles, Yajaira Hernandez and Sarah Wilbanks placed third in girls’ doubles, Logan Bennett and Randy Earp placed third in boys’ doubles, followed by teammates Train Anderson and David Gonzalez who finished fourth in boys’ doubles.  Read more in our e-edition: http://www.etypeservices.com/SWF/LocalUser/Atlanta1//Magazine24694/Full/index.aspx?id=24694

Atlanta track teams compete

Atlanta hosted the 17th annual Atlanta Lions Club/Gordon Pynes /Runnin’ Rabbs Relays, on a beautiful Saturday, March 16, morning with 10 different schools entered.
Atlanta’s varsity boys’ team dominated the field events and running events up until the last race in which Texas High bested the Rabbs in the 4x400m relay to claim first place with 132 points.
Atlanta was a close second with 124 points followed by Kaufman, Tatum, Paris, Liberty-Eylau, Daingerfield, and Spring Hill.

Queen City Lady Bulldogs edge Paul Pewitt, 4-3

Queen City got another strong outing from Kaitlin Fannin against Paul Pewitt on Friday, March 15, but it took a three run fifth to seal a 4-3 victory for the Lady Bulldogs.

L-K Tigers drop game to QC Bulldogs, 12-0

Linden-Kildare made the short trip to Queen City Tuesday, March 12, to take on the Bulldogs in league action but left with a 12-0 loss.

Lady Tigers fall to Queen City’s Lady Bulldogs 8-1

‘Dawgs hammer Brahmas, 14-0

Queen City’s baseball team was back to business as usual as they completed a two game spring break sweep of district foes L-K, 12-1, on Tuesday, then beat Paul Pewitt, 14-0, on Friday, March 15.
