AHS students show support for girls’ golf team

Lady Rabbits 7th at state after round one

Fighting through wet and cold conditions, the Lady Rabbs’ golf team battled the elements at the Jimmy Clay Golf Course in Austin on Thursday, May 2.

Rebels creep by QC 6-5

Queen City began their playoff march against the Rivercrest Rebels at Mt. Pleasant High School on Friday, April 26, but took a hard 6-5 loss even after two homeruns equaled four RBIs.
The Rebels scored four runs in the second to take a 4-1 lead, but the never-say-die Lady Bulldogs plated three runs in the third, including a mammoth two-run homer from Ashley “Stretch” Belote to tie the game at 4-all.

Lambeth runs his way to regionals

Not many people from around our great state of Texas have ever heard of McLeod, but with the talent level of athletes and academic students McLeod will be a name they never forget.
Recently cross country expert Bradley Lambeth placed second in the 3200m run and third in the 1600m run at the district meet held at Honey Grove ISD.

Wildcats attend regionals

Bloomburg’s girls’ teams attended the Class A Division II Regional Track Meet on Friday, April 26 through Saturday, April 27 in Bullard.
The girls 4 x 200m relay team placed third in the Region with a time of 1:56.41; only being edged out of a trip to state by Gorman who placed second with a time of 1:55.69.4.
The girls that ran that race for the Lady ’Cats were, Saleen Stephenson, Kayla Restelle, Kasi Whitaker and Shelby Stephenson.

Rabbs fall to Bucs

Atlanta hosted the Pittsburg Pirates in their final game of the season on Friday, April 26, but gave up three runs late in the game to lose to the Pirates 6-3.
