Linden Lions Club to hold Triathlon Event

 

The first annual Linden Lions Club Triathlon will be held at the Linden City Park on Saturday, May 18. The event will have teams compete at Disk Golf, Horseshoes and Volleyball. Particapants may show up from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. to start. Results will be announced at 3 p.m.
Each team will consist of four people that will compete in all three event categories. All members must be properly registered including the payment of all entry fees.

Rabbit soccer players named to All-District team for 2013

Seven Atlanta Rabbit soccer players were named to the District 29-4A boys’ All-District team.
Senior Tucker Coats was selected as a co-Defensive MVP and senior Andrew Allday was picked as a first-team All-District forward. Read more in our e-edition:

L-K Athletic banquet May 20

 

Linden-Kildare will hold its annual Athletic Banquet at 7 p.m. Monday, May 20, in the fellowship hall at Pinecrest Baptist Church. 
Tickets are $5 per person, and include a brisket dinner. Tickets can be purchased from the Linden-Kildare High School Office.

Lady Rabbs’ golf team wraps up 2013 season

Atlanta’s Lady Rabbit golf team broke through to the 3A State Finals this season, and finished their great run on Friday, May 3.
Conditions were horrible for a May golf tournament as rain moved through the area early Thursday before the tournament began and the temperature dropped.

After losing 8-5 to Gladewater on Thursday, May 2, the Lady Rabbs’ softball squad handed the Lady Bears a 3-1 defeat behind a fine pitching performance from AHS freshman pitcher Lanee Oliver on Friday, May 3.

Rabbs’ Nation holds All-Sports Banquet

Atlanta Independent School District held its annual All-Sports Banquet on Monday, April 29, at the First Baptist Church - Family Life Center to acknowledge student athletes for hard work and dedication in various school sports.
Rabbit Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Matt McClure gave a stirring speech on the integrity and hard work that all Atlanta athletes carry into each and every sport they take part in. Read more in our e-edition:

QC tops Pairiland Patriots 8-1 in May 2 game

The cold and rainy weather didn’t divert Queen City from the plan of beating Prairiland in game one of the Class 2A state playoffs on Thursday, May 2, in Mt. Pleasant.

Maxwell goes 4-4, Lady Rabbits fall 8-5

The Lady Rabbs had every opportunity to be up 1-0 over the Gladewater Lady Bears, but the chance slipped away as Gladewater won 8-5 on Thursday, May 2, at Atlanta Field.
Rain swept across the field and the temperature dropped almost 20 degrees between inning one and inning five, but Atlanta left more than enough runners on bases as the game got out of control in the fourth and fifth innings. Read more in our e-edition:
