Linden-Kildare falls to a tough Mt. Vernon team 49-16

By Tim Emmons
Last weekend Linden-Kildare had the thrill of victory after scoring 22 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to nip Hooks 35-34.
On Friday, Sept. 6, the Tigers met up with a very good Mt. Vernon team and lost by a score of 49-16.
With Mt. Vernon pushing 410 students across their school district to L-K’s 260, the match almost seemed unfair but the Tigers exhibited the pride they have come to be known for in each game despite the loss. Linden-Kildare Tigers on tap for Queen City

By Tim Emmons
Linden-Kildare (1-1) is coming off of a 49-16 loss to Mt. Vernon last Friday evening, but that hasn’t caused an alarm throughout the football program.
L-K has shown growth in the last two games although stats and scores may say otherwise.
With a young group of young men prepared for anything, Head Coach Todd Elliott will stay the course he and his coaching staff have inserted since day one of practice.
“We are going to do what we do every game no matter who we face; the game plan stays the same and we must be consistent,” Elliott said. Read more in our e-edition:  http://www.etypeservices.com/SWF/LocalUser/Casscounty1//Magazine34413/Full/index.aspx?id=34413
