Bulldogs begin season at Rivercrest on Friday

Last year’s game between the Queen City Bulldogs and the Rivercrest Rebels was an indication of things to come for the ’Dawgs.

Linden-Kildare challenges area teams in tourney

Linden-Kildare’s varsity volleyball team competed in the annual Redwater Spikers Classic this past weekend.
The tourney was packed full of teams including host Redwater, Mt. Pleasant, Mt. Vernon, Avery, Mt. Pleasant Chapel Hill, Atlanta, Queen City, L-K, Hooks, Maud, James Bowie, Paul Pewitt and Liberty-Eylau. Tigers exert defensive prowess, effort

Linden-Kildare made the long journey to Bogata to scrimmage the Rivercrest Rebels.
The junior varsity team tied 1-1 with the Rebels and the varsity ran 30 plays, 15 offensive and 15 defensive plus played two quarters of live football. The outcome in the words of Head Coach Todd Elliott was a great team effort on both offense and defense.

Cass County Park group holds annual fishing tourney

Friends of the Park, a non-profit organization, held their third annual fishing tournament at Cass County Park on the first Saturday in June.
Both adults and kids were able to compete and the park had support from the Texas Game Wardens Association.

Linden-Kildare unveils new coaching staff

Linden-Kildare Athletic Director Todd Elliott faced another daunting task this summer of filling coaching vacancies for coaches that had moved on to higher positions or moved on for personal reasons.

Austin Nettleton reaches new heights

Austin Nettleton has reached a milestone most people from Texas will never reach.
The 2010 Queen City graduate followed his father’s passion for snowboarding /skiing, and was the driving force behind Texas Tech University’s decision to certify the college’s first ever Snowboard/Skier team.
Austin’s team is part of the Southwest Freeride Series of the United States of America Snowboard/Skier Association (USASA).

Cyclists fight heat as they compete in Douglassville

Bicycle riders from all over the nation converged in Douglassville on Saturday, Aug. 10 and 11, to take part in the 3rd annual Coleman Chevrolet Stage Race.
