McLeod grad sets baseball record for Canadian team

Texas schools participate

The Texas High School Coaches’ Association Board of Directors voted in 2004 to create a benevolence fund to enhance aid for permanent injury and memorial benefit candidates.

Queen City football players and staff held a Backyard Brawl on Friday, Aug. 9, as part of Midnight Madness.
The “Orange and White” game was a mix of junior varsity and varsity players pitted against one another in two 20 minute quarters.

Tigers play annual Blue and White game

Fans and parents got to see how the Linden-Kildare football program is coming along this year on Saturday, Aug. 10, as the Tigers held their annual “Blue/White” game at Jack Hetherington Tiger Stadium.
The season is still young and so are the Tigers who are looking to take their experience to another level and get into the playoffs.

Queen City gets ready for Aug. 9 Midnight Madness

Queen City High School football players will compete in the “Backyard Brawl” as part of Midnight Madness which will take place at 11:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, at Smith-Wall Stadium.

Rebels end magical run at state tourney

Each year that the Cass County Bank Rebels have fielded a team, their record and play have improved tremendously.
Three years as a team saw the Rebels make the state tourney for the second year in a row, and this year’s team bowed out of the tourney with an overall 36-7 record. L-K to hold annual blue/white game, alumni volleyball

The Linden-Kildare Consolidated Independent School District will have a hamburger luncheon at noon on Saturday, Aug. 10, in the high school cafeteria.
The annual blue and white game will take place at Jack Hetherington Stadium and the varsity volleyball team will take on former Linden-Kildare High School volleyball players in the gymnasium.

Bike race to benefit businesses in area

Coleman Chevrolet of New Boston and Edge City Cycling will hold the 3rd annual Coleman Chevrolet Stage Race this weekend.
Action will begin at 8 a.m. on Aug. 10 and 11 in Douglassville.
