Rabbs surge past Daingerfield 48-35

Atlanta entered last Friday night’s game with Daingerfield feeling they had something to prove.
A week after falling to Gilmer, the Rabbits were full throttle against the 2A state ranked Tigers.
When the dust had settled, the Atlanta Rabbits had defeated the Daingerfield Tigers 48-35 in a Friday night thriller.
The game was a back and forth battle for the duration. Daingerfield took a 7-0 lead to the end of the first quarter and that was the lowest scoring quarter of the night.

Bulldogs skin Bears en route to a 48-20 victory

Queen City visited DeKalb last Friday night and walked off of the field with a 48-20 victory in hand.
Head Coach Eric Droddy once again prepared his team for battle and the ’Dawgs executed the game plan to perfection.
The Bulldogs’ offense was clicking on all cylinders and Kendal Griffin was DeKalb’s nightmare on defense.

Lady Rabbs battle QC, scuffle with Hooks

On Friday, Aug. 27, the Lady Rabbs volleyball squad made the short trip to Queen City for a rematch of the championship game that both teams squared off in just a few days prior in the Redwater tourney.

Heath Petten settling in as BISD Athletic Director

Heath Petten has reached a major milestone in his coaching career besides bringing football to the campus of Bloomburg.

Lady Bulldogs prevail in tourney

Queen City rolled past some stiff competition on Saturday, Aug. 31, and was crowned tournament champions in the Gold Bracket of the Hughes Springs volleyball tournament.
The Lady ’Dawgs fell to Redwater in the opening set 25-19 before claiming victories in both the second and third sets.

L-K volleyball powers through tourney Aug. 29

Linden-Kildare began pool play in the Hughes Springs Tournament on Thursday, Aug. 29, and went 2-1 which put them in the Gold Bracket.
L-K lost to Hooks in two-of-three sets in game one of pool play by scores of 25-19 and 25-15.

QC boys cc team places fourth

Queen City High School entered the Trinity Christian Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 31, and placed 4th out of 13 teams.
Sidney Andrews finished in 10th place with a time of 19:47, Austin Nuckels placed 27th at a time of 21:14, Austin Eudy placed 31st at 21:40, Cody Henrico finished 38th at 22:15 and Davis Dupree came in 40th at 22:18.
Some of the other teams that were entered in the meet were Magnolia, McLeod, Ashdown, Genoa Central, Gurdon, De Queen and Ouachita.

Lady Tigers lose hard-fought battle to Lady Yellowjackets

Linden-Kildare traveled to Elysian Fields to take on the Lady Yellowjackets in a non-district, best-three-out-of-five volleyball game on Tuesday, Aug. 27.

’Dawgs slam Rebels 50-0 in first game

Last season the legs of Drew Davenport gave Queen City their first win in two seasons as the Bulldogs edged the Rivercrest Rebels 46-41 in the waning moments of that contest.
On Friday, Aug. 30, several Bulldog runners crossed the goal line for touchdowns and the Bulldogs’ defense didn’t let Rivercrest into the end zone as QC went on to win 50-0 over the Rebels.

Atlanta falls to Gilmer 57-7 in Thursday night game

The Atlanta Rabbits opened the 2013 football season with a loss at Gilmer 57-7 last Thursday night.
