Lady Tigers defeat Bloomburg 39-19

The Linden-Kildare Lady Tigers were victorious on Nov. 19 at the Bloomburg High School gym taking a 39-19 tally.  
L-K had dominant second and third quarters to propel them to a win.  
Shardai Love led the charge with 10 points, seven rebounds, six steals, and five assists.  
Haylee Smoak added nine points and Shenari Green finished with eight points.

Lady Wildcats edge Lady Longhorns 36-34

Bloomburg’s Lady Wildcats battled county foe McLeod on Nov. 22, and a great game came down to the final seconds with Bloomburg taking a narrow 36-34 decision.
The two teams entered the fourth quarter in a 24-all tie after McLeod held a 13-7 halftime lead. 
Bloomburg’s Kayla Restelle led all scorers with 15 points and teammate Hailey Cressionnie added seven.
Jessica Keener posted 13 for McLeod and Alyssa Cox recorded eight points.

Tigers fall to Hawkins

The Linden-Kildare Tigers fell to Hawkins on Nov. 22 while on the road.  
Hawkins got off to a fast start offensively and never looked back as they defeated L-K 75-26.  
Jordan Craver scored 17 points for the Tigers followed by Chance Cogswell with seven.

L-K Tigers fight back to beat Winona

Linden-Kildare was at home on Nov. 19 to take on the Winona Wildcats.  L-K entered the half down by 10 points but the Tigers outscored the Wildcats by 27 points in the second half to capture a hard-fought 68-59 victory.  
Jordan Craver led the attack with 17 points, nine rebounds, four assists and four steals, followed by Cortez Peterson with 16 points, 14 rebounds, and three steals.  
Tedren Linwood also added 14 points and 12 rebounds and Chance Cogswell had 14 points and four rebounds.  
The junior varsity also played Winona and fell 59-32.

Lady Longhorns take loss to Karnack Indians, 39-30

The McLeod Lady Longhorns visited Karnack on Nov. 19, and came out of a scrappy affair with a 39-30 loss.
Both teams were tied at 23-all entering the fourth quarter but Karnack outscored the Lady Longhorns 15-7 down the stretch to pull out the win. 
Jessica Keener led McLeod scorers with 15 points and Kyndal Sheppard added nine.

Lady ’Dawgs earn All-District in volleyball

Queen City’s Lady Bulldogs defeated Hughes Springs outright this season for a co-district championship in a tie-breaker game and sailed into the fourth round of the playoffs under first year head coach Susan Childress. Linwood makes mark on NCAA landscape

Rashodrick ‘Shock’ Linwood put his name in Linden-Kildare’s football record book and caught the attention of several major college programs.
Shock decided to take his talent to Waco for the chance to play for Art Briles, coach of the Baylor Bears.
Just recently Shock, a redshirt freshman, filled in for injured feature running backs Lache Seastrunk and Glasco Martin and made a huge impact in Baylor’s 41-12 win over then No. 12 Oklahoma. Atlanta girls’ golf team places 1st

Atlanta’s girls’ golf team is warming up for another district title shot by playing in a few fall invitationals.
Recently the girls played in the Pleasant Grove Fall Invitational at Northridge CC and placed first overall.
The girls beat runner-up PG by 10 strokes and completely left powerhouse schools like Longview and Mt. Pleasant in the dust by more than 58 strokes.
Michaela Griffin placed second overall with a score of 89 and Gabby Thompson was third with a score of 91.
Haley Ware and Ashton Guillory placed in the Top 10 with scores of 97 and 101 respectively and teammate Devin Smith recorded a score of 113.

Lady Tigers defeat JB

Linden-Kildare’s Lady Tigers won their first scheduled basketball game of the year, 39-29, over the James Bowie Lady Pirates on Nov. 12, at home.
L-K outscored the Lady Pirates in three out of the four quarters to eventually capture the 10-point win.  
The Lady Tigers held a 16-11 lead at the half but opened up the second half full throttle outscoring James Bowie 23-18.
Shardai Love led the Lady Tigers with 17 points, 10 steals and three rebounds followed by Shelby Norwood with 11 points.  Arriana Evans led in total rebounds with 13 and teammate Haylee Smoak added six.

2013 Pump & Run

The Atlanta Memorial Foundation held the 16th Annual Pump N’ Run 5K Saturday, Nov. 9. The course for the 5K began at the Fitness and Health Center located in downtown Atlanta. All proceeds benefit the Atlanta Memorial Hospital Foundation, the fundraising arm of CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital- Atlanta.
