Pleasant Grove defeats Lady Tigers

The Linden-Kildare Lady Tigers were on the road on Dec. 3, to take on the hot-handed Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks.  
PG jumped out to an early lead in the first half and the Lady Tigers were unable to recover.  
L-K gained some ground in the third quarter but would ultimately fall 60-39.  
Shelby Norwood led the Lady Tigers with 12 points and Haylee Smoak with 10 points.

Three Lady ’Dawgs garner Academic All-State honors

The Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) recently named three Queen City volleyball athletes to the Academic All-State team.

Queen City girls slip past Bloomburg, 34-28

Queen City hosted county neighbor Bloomburg on Nov. 26, and pulled off an improbable comeback to take a 34-28 victory.

Lady Longhorns thump Indians

McLeod’s Lady Longhorns won their first game of the year in a convincing 36-11 win over Avinger at home on Nov. 26.
McLeod jumped out to a 14-7 first quarter lead and never looked back as Avinger was only able to scrape up four points the rest of the contest.
Junior Jessica Keener scored 13 points, Anna Parker added seven, Kyndal Shepard tossed in six and Emma Parker put in four points of her own.
McLeod hosted Hooks on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

Lady Rabbs win New Diana tourney championship

Atlanta’s Lady Rabbs took part in the New Diana Tournament between Nov. 21 and Nov. 23, and came away with a championship trophy.
Game 1
First up for the mighty Rabbs was an overmatched Avinger team that Atlanta took no time in putting away by the score of 66-13.

Lady Longhorns fall to L-K

Linden-Kildare hosted McLeod on Nov. 25, and the Lady Tigers used a 20-0 run in the third quarter to seal the 57-21 triumph.
Shelby Norwood tossed in 16 points for the Lady Tigers, Haylee Smoak added 12 and Shardai Love threw down 11.
The Lady Tigers sank nine three pointers throughout the course of the contest.
Kyndal Shepard led the Lady Horns with 10 points and Jessica Keener added nine points.
McLeod won the junior varsity game, 20-15, with MiKayla Terry scoring seven and Cassidy Guess six. Hailey Taylor scored six for L-K.

Linden Lady Tigers outscore Union Hill, 59-18

The Linden-Kildare Tigers defeated McLeod at home on Nov. 25, by the score of 51-48.  
It was a close game through all quarters but in the end the Tigers were able to pull out a narrow victory.  
L-K was led by Cortez Peterson who tallied 12 points; Jordan Craver added 11 points and Chance Cogswell put in nine.  
The JV squad also captured a victory over McLeod by the score of 57-40.  The Tigers were led by Jim Brown who poured in 32 points.

Wildcats fall to Hooks, 68-45

Bloomburg hosted Hooks on Nov. 25, and although the game was close after one quarter of play, the Hornets went on a 23-9 tear in the second to increase their lead.
The end result was a 68-45 win for the Hornets on Bloomburg’s court.
Austin Baggett led the Bloomburg Wildcats with 22 points, Nathan McGill put in nine, Dylan Craft added seven and Matt Hensley poured in five.
