QC tops HS, 62-54

Queen City traveled to Hughes Springs on Jan. 21, and left town with a, 62-54, win in tow.
The Lady ’Dawgs shot out to a 12-7 lead after one quarter but the Lady Mustangs held a slim 28-27 at the break.
QC pounded Hughes Springs with a 23-10 outburst in the third and went on to win the game by eight points.
Shiloh Goecke had a team high 22 points and 12 rebounds, Kelsie Benson followed with 18 points and KeKe Henderson added 15 points.

L-K Tigers push Queen City to overtime, fall 58-49

Linden-Kildare visited Cass County foe Queen City on Jan. 24, and the crowd was definitely entertained as the teams battled each other in overtime.

MUMS boys teams compete in the Redlick Tournament

Queen City’s middle school boys’ teams competed in the Redlick tourney on Jan. 25.
The seventh grade team trumped Hooks in game one, 31-19, with stellar scoring from Isaiah Stiger, 11 points, Tyler Nolen, nine points and Connor Bingham, seven points.

Lady Tigers defeat Daingerfield, 44-37

Linden-Kildare’s Lady Tigers defeated Daingerfield 44-37 at home on Jan. 21.  
L-K held a slight 17-15 lead at the half and went on a 27-22 run to keep the lead until the final buzzer.
Haylee Smoak led all scorers with 15 points, 12 of those points were from beyond the 3-point line and Shenari Green added 11 points.

The Queen City Lady Bulldogs scored a 45-44 thrilling win against Linden-Kildare on Jan. 24.

L-K Tigers fall to Daingerfield

The Linden-Kildare Tigers were at home to face Daingerfield on Jan. 21, but a first half setback gave Daingerfield the upper hand and an eventual 55-36 victory.

Queen City’s baseball program has organized a fundraiser to take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Queen City’s baseball field with an inter-squad scrimmage to follow at 1 p.m.

Lady Rabbs pull out 60-56 victory over Liberty-Eylau

The Lady Rabbs opened district play on Jan. 3, with a 60-56 win over rival Liberty-Eylau at home.
Atlanta bounced out to a 16-4 lead after the first quarter and carried a 35-24 lead into the break.

L-K Lady Tigers dominate Lady Dragons, 48-32

Linden-Kildare’s Lady Tigers capped off a 2-0 week with another district win, this time a 48-32 decision over Redwater on Jan. 3.

QC Bulldogs coral Brahmas

Queen City upped their district record to 3-0 after defeating the Paul Pewitt Brahmas 37-19 in Omaha on Jan. 3. 
The ’Dawgs only held a meager 14-7 lead at the end of the first half, but QC Head Coach Justin Burk’s halftime speech ignited a 23-12 outburst in the second half to wrap up the 18-point win.
