Atlanta’s varsity volleyball team battled in the Redwater Volleyball Tournament this past weekend and ended up taking third place in the Challengers Bracket after facing a tough lineup of teams.

Linden-Kildare opened their volleyball season against a pretty good Pleasant Grove program at home on Aug. 12. 
In the varsity contest, PG cruised to a 25-12 opening set win but had to keep the Lady Tigers at bay in set two while winning the match 25-21.

Queen City Bulldogs prepare for encore season

Queen City’s first playoff appearance in 12 years last season is still fresh in the minds of the players who experienced that feeling and the fans who have followed every step since that time.
The Bulldogs are looking at a new district with teams like Hughes Springs, Paul Pewitt, Linden-Kildare, Hooks and DeKalb and will shoot for one of the four playoff spots.

Lady Tigers take fourth at Redwater tourney

After battling their way through the championship bracket, the Linden-Kildare Lady Tigers dropped a heart breaker to the Hughes Springs Lady Mustangs Saturday, earning a fourth place finish in the Redwater Tournament.
L-K (5-9) opened the best of three match with a 25-21 win. Hughes Springs came back to take the second game 25-22. The series saw Hughes Springs come out on top 25-18. Shenari Green led the team with 11 service points, including two aces, four blocks ad nine digs.

Rabbs face early test against Lions

Atlanta has never been short on who they schedule in their pre-district lineup. The Rabbs like to face the toughest teams in the state at times so the coaching staff can see what improvements need to be met before district play begins.

While most athletes had their summer cut short with cross country practices or football two-a-days, Linden-Kildare’s volleyball team was playing in the Paris Chisum/Prairiland Volleyball Tournament Aug. 14-16.
The Lady Tigers were paired with Pittsburg in game one and L-K burst out of the gate with a 26-24 grinding win in set one.

Queen City’s 9th grade and junior varsity volleyball teams were in action at the Mt. Pleasant Tournament last week.
The  freshmen team came out on top of their pool after defeating Daingerfield, Hughes Springs and Pleasant Grove.

The Queen City Lady Bulldogs competed in the Prairiland/Paris Chisum Volleyball Tournament this past weekend and took home second place in the Silver Bracket.
QC played six games throughout tournament play and after losing a very close set to state-ranked Avery by scores of 25-23, 19-25, 25-27 and Redwater 22-25, 25-16, 17-25, the Lady ’Dawgs  defeated arch-rival Atlanta in two sets 25-15, 25-20.
