Game Warden Field Notes

Smoke Signals
A game warden patrolling the Lakeside subdivision noticed a car parked at the end of a street.
When he approached the vehicle, he saw the passenger smoking something.
The driver sped off and turned onto another street without using his blinker.
A traffic stop was made and as the warden approached the vehicle, a strong odor of marijuana could be smelled.
During the vehicle search, the warden found a backpack with a scale, zip lock bags, individually wrapped bags of marijuana and two larger bags of unprocessed marijuana.
The individual was placed under arrest and taken to the Webb County jail.  Read more in our e-edition: http://www.etypeservices.com/SWF/LocalUser/Atlanta1//Magazine64042/Full/index.aspx?id=64042

Atlanta Rabbits destroy Daingerfield Tigers, 51-7

By Tim Emmons

Atlanta’s games in pastimes against Daingerfield have been classic thrillers to those in attendance.
The Rabbs bounced away from a scrap with the Tigers last year and took home a 48-35 victory but no one saw this year’s outcome coming.
The Rabbits scored early and often in a 51-7 rout of the Tigers last Friday night.
Daingerfield limped into the match having lost to 4A state-ranked Gladewater 34-13 and 3A powerhouse Malakoff 39-14.
Unfortunately they also had to play state-ranked Atlanta and try to avoid an 0-3 start for the first time in a long time.
