L-K’s JV experiences a “rollercoaster ride” season

Linden-Kildare’s junior varsity football team has been on a rollercoaster ride since the season began.  The Tigers own an overall record of 3-3 and a district record of 1-1 but make no mistake the young Tigers have competed from game one.
After winning the season opener in Ore City, L-K dropped the next two games in a row to Pleasant Grove and Redwater.
The Tigers bounced back after the losses with a win over Harleton to finish off their pre-district schedule.

Lady Tigers sweep Hughes Springs, claims third place

Linden-Kildare’s volleyball team sealed up a playoff spot after winning seven of their last nine games in district play.
The Lady Tigers finished the regular season last week with a three set sweep over Hughes Springs by scores of, 25-22, 25-18 and 25-19.

Queen City Bulldogs lay it all on line for playoff push

The Queen City Bulldogs were on the road last Friday to take on the Hooks Hornets in district action.  Queen City was coming off a six point loss to Linden-Kildare the previous week and Hooks a 34-12 win over DeKalb.  
The Bulldogs were looking to spoil Senior Night for the Hornets and pickup their second win of the season.

Tigers stop ‘Running of the Bulls’ with 21-14 victory

The Linden-Kildare Tigers had a memorable Senior Night Oct. 31 knocking off district foe Paul Pewitt 21-14. The win keeps the team in the playoff hunt.
The Brahmas won the opening coin toss and elected to receive the ball to start the game.

Rabbs excel in slugfest with Eagles, wins 34-28

Celebrating Senior Night feels better when the home team wins and Atlanta sent the senior class of 2015 off with a bang after claiming a 34-28 win over Tatum last Friday night.
The win puts the state-ranked Rabbs (8-1, 3-1) in sole possession of second place in District 6-4A, Division II with one game remaining on the regular season schedule.

Atlanta Bandits win DETBA World Series

The Atlanta Bandits won the Division II 9U Deep East Texas Baseball Association (DETBA) World Series Tournament recently. The Bandits are: Clinton Watkins, Will Woodruff, Kannon Dempsey, Mason Campbell, Reggie Harrison, Grayson Owens, Preston Bishop, Ty Waldon, Brennan Penny, Brayden Watkins and Micah Whittington.

The Atlanta Bandits won the Division II 9U Deep East Texas Baseball Association (DETBA) World Series Tournament this past weekend in Marshall. 
The Bandits were down 4-3 against Pittsburg going into the bottom of the sixth.

Queen City Lady Bulldogs claim district championship

Queen City beat Mt. Vernon last Tuesday to claim the District 16-3A Championship. The Lady Bulldogs will face DeKalb Tuesday, Nov. 4, at Hughes Springs High School in the first round of the playoffs.

Queen City’s volleyball team battled the entire season last year and ended up sharing the district crown with Hughes Springs and reaching the Region II-2A semifinal round.
This season just a couple of hiccups kept the state-ranked Lady Bulldogs (28-9, 10-2) from having a perfect 12-0 district record.

Big Bad Band from Rabbitland makes it to State Finals

Atlanta’s Big Bad Band from Rabbitland performed in the Area round of the Class 4A State Marching Contest at Lobo Stadium in Longview on Oct. 25. The band received outstanding ratings, was crowned overall champion and advanced to the state finals in San Antonio on Monday, Nov. 3

Lady Tigers earn playoff berth

The Linden-Kildare Lady Tigers (18-16, 7-3) have earned their place in the “second season.”
On Oct. 24 the team clinched a playoff spot with a win over Daingerfield. The win came on the night in which the team recognized its senior players.
