Area basketball teams collide, play in various tourneys

Bulldogs slay Dragons 
Queen City’s varsity boys’ basketball team defeated the Redwater Dragons 65-34 on Dec.2, in Redwater. 
QC was only up by five points after one quarter with the score being 19-14 but by halftime the Bulldogs were up by 15 at 36-21.

Queen City had 15 players named to the 7-2A, Division II All-District Team as voted by district coaches once the season is over for every team.

Lady Rabbs’ volleyball athletes take home All-District hardware

Atlanta had nine volleyball athletes receive recognition for All-District volleyball honors in this year’s release of the District 15-4A All-District list.
Deanna Dickerson was selected as the Superlative Setter and teammate TeShuna Sheppard was chosen Newcomer of the Year.

Lady Tigers top Union Hill, feels Hornets’ sting

The Linden-Kildare Lady Tigers picked up their sixth win of the season Nov. 25 with a 28-11 victory over Union Hill.
The Lady Tigers’ defense took control early in the case, shutting out Union Hill in the first quarter. On the other end of the court they scored 10.

Tigers beat up on Rabbits, fall to PG Hawks

Linden-Kildare had three players score in the double-digits as the Tigers made Rabbit stew of Atlanta 65-18 on Nov. 24.
The Tigers started off the game on a 16-6 run. By halftime L-K would have all the points they need, as they went into the break with a 25-9 lead.

Tigers take 14 All-District spots, Warren holds three

The Linden-Kildare Tigers were well-represented on this year’s District 7-2A Division 2 Teams, earning 14 spots.
Leading the list for the Tigers was Montrelle Warren, who was named to the First Team in three different position, running back, kick returner and safety.

Lady Tigers defeat Lady Pirates, Lady Cardinals

The Linden-Kildare Lady Tigers put together one of the best quarters of the young season Friday night, as they came from behind to beat James Bowie 39-33.
The win gives the Lady Tigers a 4-0 start to the season.

Tigers make Pirates walk the plank, beat UH Bulldogs

The Linden-Kildare Tigers scored all the points they would need in the first quarter as they squashed the James Bowie Pirate 46-23.
Defense proved to be the key for L-K, as they held the pirates to four points in the first quarter. 
On the other end of the court they scored 28 points.

Rabbs down Tarkington Longhorns, 49-26, in Area round

The Atlanta Rabbits secured the Area trophy for the first time in 11 years and the first under Head Coach Matt McClure who has taken the Rabbs to the playoffs in each of his four years and to the Area round three of the four. Atlanta moves on to the Regional round to play familiar foe Tatum at Pine Tree High School on Saturday, Nov. 29, with game time set for 2 p.m.
