The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) honored the Eagle Landing Home Owners Association in Avinger for its efforts to keep Texas highways clean and beautiful. The association was presented an award as the best of the exemplary Adopt-A-Highway groups that do an outstanding job of picking up litter on its adopted section of Texas highways. The group has adopted a two-mile section of State Highway 155 west of Avinger. The mobile app was designed by the Texas A&M Health Science Center. It is now available for both Apple and Android phone and tablet users.
