Garden Club host bulb sale

Linden Garden Club is selling daffodil bulbs for their fall fundraiser. Organizers said this fundraiser is to help beautify the community and to help raise money for the club. Wagon train rides through downtown Linden

The fifth annual wagon train rode through downtown Linden on Oct. 23 headed toward West Monroe to raise money for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. 
Trail master Bob Kearney of Saltillo has traveled more than 10,000 miles across Texas, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Louisiana to raise money for Relay For Life. He started more than five years ago in honor of his niece who had cancer. Blue Jeans & Bling Gala raises $20K

The Blue Jeans & Bling Gala hosted by the Atlanta Education Foundation (AEF) was a resounding success by any standard. Not only did the foundation raise $20,000, but the fete was reminiscent of “Dallas,” and the tables glittered with a touch of South Fork Ranch. GSMC Auxiliary Bazaar is Friday

Home cooking goodness will be provided by Good Shepherd Medical Center-Linden Auxiliary members at their annual bazaar Friday.

Local dance school inducted into Pink Glove Hall of Fame

Tammie Duncan School of Dance has been inducted into the Pink Glove Hall of Fame for the inventive video, which was entered in the Pink Glove Competition in 2011. Pioneer Day held for local nursing homes

Pioneer Day originated as a fun project for the Kildare Garden Group. It had all the old games. They included corn shucking, sawing with a cross cut saw, chopping wood, churning, washing on the rub board, ironing with a smoothing iron, etc. 
Later games were added that young people could relate to like tug of war, sack races and wheel barrow races. All the family, old and young attended. MUMS wins first place in math, science meet

The Morris Upchurch Middle School Math and Science team hosted at on Saturday, November 9.
