Veterans honored at Atlanta Elementary

Local schools and other organizaitons gathered Monday, November 11 to celebrate Veteran’s Day. These celebrations included the Veteran’s Day Program at Atlanta Elementary School (AES) where more than 30 armed service veterans gathered to see the program presented by the second grade class at Atlanta Elementary.

Chamber to sponsor Christmas coloring contest

The Linden Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Christmas coloring contest for all Linden-Kildare CISD students as part of the annual Winterfest activities.

Students recognized for the month of November

Officials recently announced Students of the Month for November at Linden-Kildare Elementary School and Head Start. A student from each grade was selected based on their character. The students are Jayden Cervantes, Allizon Arias, Jacob Bazar, Cadence Johnson, Caleb Sharbine, Kameron Beaty, Bailee Baker, Trevarious Patterson and Colton Anderson. Sanders, Robinson to exchange vows

Randy and Dewanna Sanders of Bloomburg are pleased to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Kristin Alaine, to Austin Wayne Robinson, son of Kim Robinson and David Dorsey of Abilene.
The future bride is a 2008 graduate of Atlanta High School, a 2012 graduate of Tarleton State University and is currently working on her master’s degree at Tarleton. She is employed as an agriculture teacher in the Queen City Independent School District.
She is the daughter of the late Doug Robinson and the granddaughter of Virginia Summers of Marshall and the late Sikes Summers.
The prospective groom is a graduate of Abilene High School and the Tulsa Welding School. 
He is the grandson of Celia Harwell of Abilene and the late Yogi Harwell.
The wedding is set for Dec. 28, 2013, at Cross Creek Cowboy Church in Atlanta.
Following the nuptials, the couple will make their home in Atlanta.

40th Annual Cullen Baker Country Fair

Since 1974 the Cullen Baker Fair has raised funds for the local volunteer fire department.  Prior to that time there were no fire department services available to far east Cass County, Texas  and adjoining Miller County, Arkansas residents.  Both have grown significantly from its very small beginnings.  Cullen Baker Country Fair is staffed totally by volunteers and it continues to support the Bloomburg Volunteer Fire Department.  Read more and see all the pictures in our e-edition:  http://www.etypeservices.com/SWF/LocalUser/Atlanta1//Magazine38514/Full/index.aspx?id=38514
