Pioneer Day held for local nursing homes

Pioneer Day originated as a fun project for the Kildare Garden Group. It had all the old games. They included corn shucking, sawing with a cross cut saw, chopping wood, churning, washing on the rub board, ironing with a smoothing iron, etc.
Later games were added that young people could relate to like tug of war, sack races and wheel barrow races. All the family, old and young attended.
