Renovation begins on city hall

Contractors have already begun to remove items from the Linden City Hall in preparation for the renovations. City Administrator Robbie Hood said the City Hall is scheduled to be closed Friday and Monday, July 26 and July 29 to begin renovations in the front lobby and office area.

Atlanta ISD hires McKinstry for facility improvements

The Atlanta Independent School District (ISD) will soon have a better idea of how to cut costs. The local school district recently awarded a contract to Dallas-based energy and facilities services firm McKinstry to help the district reduce its energy consumption.

Sales tax revenues increase

Sales tax revenues are up this year for most Cass County cities. One city, however, has taken a significant nose dive since last year. Road construction is believed to be partially to blame for the 61 percent loss in Domino. The county, as a whole, is up 4.68 percent overall.

The following persons are wanted by the Cass County Sheriff Office (CCSO). This information has been submitted by the CCSO. Cass County Most Wanted

Cass County Sheriff Office is in search of Michael “Mike” Ray Bryant.
The individual is wanted on five outstanding warrants. These include: driving while intoxicated, driving without a license with previous convictions, fictitious counterfeit insurance, criminal mischief, and criminal trespass of a habitation, resisting arrest or search.
His last known address was 2616 CR 1641, Texarkana, TX. 75501.
He is among Cass County’s most wanted. If anyone has information regarding Bryant’s whereabouts, please contact the Cass County Sheriff Office at 903–756–7511.

Lightning takes down tree

Joyce Martin was sitting in her late model sedan on Richardson Street when lightning hit a massive oak tree approximately 10 feet from her car.

Accident damages store front

Linden VFD to host fundraiser for new gear

The Linden Volunteer Fire Department (LVFD) is planning a fundraiser to purchase wildland gear for volunteer firefighters.
