Council OKs lease extension

Following a brief executive session, the Atlanta City Council voted in favor of a  recommendation for extension of the User Loan Agreement, Promissory Note and User Lease Agreement between the Atlanta Economic Development Corp. (AEDC) and Fibrtec, Inc. during the regular city council meeting Monday night, Feb. 1.

The Super Bowl is America’s most watched national sporting event. On Super Bowl 50 Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, there will be lots of game day socializing that may include drinking. That’s why the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Watch UR BAC program is urging football fans to call the play now: Drinking OR driving. If you plan on drinking on Super Bowl Sunday, designate a sober driver to get you home safely.

County Clerk's Office closures

CASS COUNTY—The Cass County Clerk’s has announced upcoming closures as they prepare for the March 1 Primary Election.

County Clerk Jamie O’Rand said the office would be closed Feb. 10 and 11 for election training. The office will operate at half-staff on Feb. 29 while they accept delivery of and set-up election equipment.

On March 1 the office will be closed to the general public.

AUSTIN – As Texas steps into the second year of the “Two Steps, One Sticker” program for vehicle inspection and registration, vehicle owners can look forward to a simpler process for these two important annual vehicle requirements.
Beginning on March 1, 2016, the transition year ends, and vehicles will have one convenient expiration date for inspection and registration. Here is what Texans need to do from that point forward: Take a look at the date on your vehicle registration sticker and then follow the two steps.

Roark Auto Parts has been cemented in Atlanta since 1945. In 1946 Bonnie Roark moved his auto parts store to the corner of East Main Street and South East Street which is where it still stands today.

Customer service, commitment key to 100 year-old bank

The date was Feb. 1, 1916. Europe in embroiled in the “War To End All Wars” (the U.S. would not enter W.W. I until the following year when German U-Boats sank seven U.S. merchant ships) and Bloomburg State Bank opened its doors for the first time.
Since then, the bank has gone through the Great Depression, more wars, an armed robbery, and numerous banking regulations but has continued to go strong.
