NPSOT members learn about naturalists

Caddo Chapter of the Native Plant Society was honored to have state chapter president Lonnie Childs as their guest speaker in February. Childs and his wife Vanessa live in Fredericksburg. 
He began his interest in native plants in 1999 and has become more active since.

Youth Talent Show is Saturday

Co-directors Roberts, Dickinson says it’s their last show

Theme of the 20th annual Community of Linden Youth Talent Show is, “20 Years of Rising Stars.” 
The show will be held at Music City Texas Theater Saturday, March 2, with a 1 p.m. matinee and 6 p.m. evening performance. 
Tickets are $5 per person for the matinee and $8 per person for the evening show.

Monthly fish fry is slated March 2

The congregation at First Baptist Church Kildare was blessed to have Brother Earl Taylor to bring the message Sunday morning and evening. He was filling in for Brother Ragland.

Boys, Girls State candidates speak to Lions members

Boys and Girls State candidates spoke at Linden Lions Club Thursday expressing their desire to attend Boys and Girls State this summer.
Six Linden-Kildare High School students introduced themselves to Lions Club members. 
They were Laura Arnold, Peyton Autrey, Kaitlyn Hitchcock, Bryson Baggett, Patrick Littlejohn and Travis Horn.

J.D. Souther to perform at MCTT on April 12

 

Music City Texas Theater will welcome legendary songwriter and musician J.D. Souther in concert in April.
One of the principal architects of the Southern California country-rock sound, Souther famously played a key role in the formation of the Eagles and co-wrote their hits “Heartache Tonight,” “Victim of Love,” “New Kid In Town” and “Best of My Love,” as well as writing Linda Ronstadt’s classics “Faithless Love,” “Simple Man, Simple Dream,” and “Prisoner in Disguise.”

Annual Linden Wildflower Trails just around the corner

Organizers say the 43rd Annual Linden Wildflower Trails of Texas promises flowers, fun, food, arts and crafts, and entertainment to suit every taste.
This year’s festival is set for Friday and Saturday, April 26-27. Precluding the event is the Little Miss Wildflower Trails Pageant on Saturday, March 30.
