The “low volume” category encompasses towns that have a population under 30,000.
This is the fourth straight year for the Linden Municipal Court under the direction of Judge Barbara McMillon to be recognized.
The awards competition recognizes municipal courts that have demonstrated outstanding contributions to traffic safety and preventing impaired driving in their respective communities.

By Ben Woods
bwoods@casscountynow.com

The Cass County Commissioners Court last week approved a proclamation declaring April 2-8 as National Crime Victims Week in Cass County.
Cass County District Attorney’s Office Victim’s Assistance Coordinator Amy Varnell spoke before the court about National Crime Victims Week.
“April 2-8 is National Crime Victims Week and I am asking you all, sign this proclamation just to reaffirm Cass County’s commitment to victims’ services,” said Varnell.
Varnell’s position is paid for by a grant through the Attorney General’s office and part of her job is to bring community awareness to crime victims’ rights.
Also last week, Preston Caver of Caver and Setser, Inc. presented the audit report for Cass County.
“As far as the budgetary process you are doing a good job and have been for a while,” said Caver in presenting the audit. “Overall it was a good report.”
