Hughes Springs voters approve beer and wine sales

Hughes Springs voters narrowly approved a local option to allow for the purchase of beer and wine for off-premise consumption. The option passed by 15 votes, 59-44.

Also, Hughes Springs voters elected Phillip Chapman to the lone school board seat up for election. Chapman defeated Rick Colegrove, 142-86.

Cass County Child Protective Services Board KPYN Auction

Since this is Child Abuse Awareness Month, the Cass County Child Protective Services Board of Directors will host its 20th annual auction. This is one of two major fundraising projects each year. 
The event will begin at 8:45 a.m. Friday, May 12, at the Mattie Lanier Richey Center at 102 Sportsplex Drive in Atlanta. The auction will be broadcast on KPYN 900 radio, but you can go to the center to bid on items and pick up the treasures you have won.
