L-K High to honor first responders

From Staff Reports

LINDEN—The Linden-Kildare High National Honor Society and Student Council are teaming up to honor Cass County’s First Responders as part of the school’s 9-11 Tribute.
On Sept. 9, a Remembrance Ceremony will be held in the school auditorium, starting at 8:30 a.m. Students Kellie Burns and Maleny Gomez will speak during the ceremony and a 9-11 video will be shown to students.
At the close of the ceremony, students will gather at the flagpole with First Responders. The flag will be lowered to half-staff in memory of the lives lost on 9-11 and a moment of silence will be observed. First Responders will then participate in a balloon release.
Guests will also be invited to the library where Art Teacher Patsy Griffin’s students have prepared 9-11 pictures as part of a contest, which the First Responders will judge. Floral arrangement students have also prepared special gifts for the First Responders.
